Default Ar60 locker sheared off

So, i sheared off the drive dogs of the stock locker, meaning the maltese cross locker can spin inside the plastic housing (is that common?). The sintered locker itself is uber hard, and ideal to drive the shafts, should be way better than some of the soft steel replacements I've seen... Why oh why did they only give it those dinky drive dogs though? (Why is all Axial stuff a bit below what you might hope?) the plasic housing has a big square hole in it - it would have been easy for the locker to fill the square hole no?
As a makeshift repair, i've filled the locker into the housing with epoxy resin. Actually seems a pretty solid solution. Has anyone else done this? Should i get an order in for a replacement now? (Running an HH puller pro)

Incorrect.

Many of the aftermarket lockers are junk, some seem to work ok. I haven't found one that works ok yet.

Ouch. You broke those ones.
They really are a poor design. A different shape would hold out far better.
In my optimistic mood, i'm choosing to think the epoxied in locker is less likely to break in this fashion.... Time will tell.

The stock locker is scrap metal. Literally, it's sintered metal.

I've had great luck with holmes and for $19 you ain't going to beat it.

You will.

My basher ran a castle 5700 on 3s for the last year with no issues from the stock lockers. I have friends that have spun the ears off the stock lockers and broken them as pictured above running holmes brushed setups on 2s. Torque is a killer.

Am I the only one whose realized that the only way to make the stock lockers last is to JB Weld them into the plastic carriers when they are new upon the initial build? Sure, if you run stupid power with a stupid trigger finger you'll still eventually egg out the flat spots that contact the axleshafts. But for those running brushed power and with a level head the stockers will last years if the slop doesn't bug you first.

That said I have trucks running JB Weld, Felsenfest, and Locked Up RC F1 spools depending upon abuse level and budget at time of failure.

I've been out and given my epoxy resin filled locker some abuse.... So far so good. Reckon i'll fill the front too. Seems pretty solid to me too.

I tried the jb weld it just rounded down the shafts and the hole in the locker they slip in to I tried the hr spool but the bolts snapped I think the shock from the slop caused the failure I'm replacing my front axle and using all new parts I'm gonna try the incision spool this time I hope it holds up better

You're lucky.

I have some Locked Up spools in my SCX10 and Incision spools in my Bomber. The Incision spools were not as tight as the Locked Up and they have developed a bit of slop, but are still holding up.
