I am up in the air on color, are yours black or grey in the picture? I was leaning toward grey

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions

So I was getting ready to check out at RPP (went with the grey axle housings) and was looking for avid revolution bearings and they do not carry them. So I looked at Fast Eddy bearings and read their disclaimer on the bearings in the kit. I compared the bearings in the Avid Revolutions

Wraith bearing Kit - Revolution

than the Fast Eddy's

Team Fast Eddy Axial Wraith Bearing Kit

Now I am concerned since I have no idea what the sizes are supposed to be. Was hoping to order all at once. bummer

Here's a link to the Wraith user's manual.
Page 10 has all the bearing sizes and required number of each.
Hope that helps.

All three of mine are tight, no slop. I read a lot of reviews and bang for the buck seems right.

That works! Now that I am looking at the two they are the same just listed differently. Looks like I will get the Fast Eddy's since RPP carries them and lumped in with all the rest of my goodies!

SHHHHH! Don't tell my wife! "thumbsup"

I went through the order and all of here. I had some foam issues I wanted to correct in the existing Wraith so I got everything from Crawler Innovations for the 6.0 w/Comp Cut in the new tires. I am done for the night so here is a pic of the existing wheels and new wheels with the tires.

Ok, I need my main frame pieces to really get started but I decided to start on the rear end. Now, I have never done this so go easy on me. I have the Axial gear set, incision locker, the rear end and a HD axle. The first thing I installed the bearings and the pinion bearing. Then when I got to the incision locker to the ring gear I cannot find hardware. I have a RC Screwz kit but I may have gotten screwzed on that deal because I was unable to find 4 screws that small but then again nothing is organized in the dam thing. Where can I get that hardware? I was also trying to find some instructions to make sure I do it correctly but not able to find anything.

Impatient I guess but I put it together knowing I need to button everything up inside with loctight and screws before I bolt things up. That is a long way down the road, still waiting on parts and now I am going to wait until Labor Day to see if I can get a better discount from RPP to secure a tranny and whatever else I have missed in my ordering. I missed the 15% by ordering 20 hours too soon but who knew.

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions

The locker screws are M2x10, Axial part # is AXA015 but I wouldn't especially go get those, any brand of the best quality you can get, they are tiny & can tend to break. M2x8 would suffice also into a spool like you've got.

Dunno if you got (or found online) the manual but if not link is here

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions

I have been reading through that manual and those screws are way to long. I guess I am surprised the incision locker does not come with hardware or at least tell you what hardware to use. From what I can tell the hole on the ring is not threaded just a through hole so the threads have to be on the locker which can not be much as thin as it is. In 1:1 at least there are manuals for everything

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions

All the locker is replace the spur holder, if you had a rtr or kit the stock screws would work

Next time you're in walmart, pick up a plano tackle box. They're great for storing parts like this. I have one filled with KNK parts.

Every time I see Gear Head wheels I get excited. It doesn't matter that I own multiple sets and that I see them often. There is no RC beauty like Gear Head wheels! They look great with that axle. Cool build!

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions

What are your opinions on slippers? Would the stock slipper clutch be fine or would an after market work better for higher power motors like the Puller Pro 3500 I am using?
