The top shaft had zero play in it but I put a bearing behind the pin any way, there was room. Are you supposed to grease these gears? How tight should the mesh be between them? |

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions Grease trans internal gears, the case is sealed enough to keep most grit out Don't grease spur/pinion, the spur cover doesn't seal that well & dirt will get in. |
Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions grrrr... sorry but mikemcE replied and said a light coat so I did. I guess I have work to remove the mess! Where does everyone get those wrenches to tighten/loosen the spur gear nut? Those are compact and handy compared to what I am using |

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions So I need some ideas. I have a Stiffy Kit for my Wraith and when I bolt up the frame (new out of the bag) the holes were pretty far off. I played with it for well over an hour trying to get the 2 sides on. Granted you have to redial the top two holes in the frame just above the windshield on both sides and that was done. I tried several different approaches to put one screw in first and then different sequences after that and in the end I always had one hole that I had to pull and hold to where I thought I was going to break the frame while I was waiting for my wife to get the screw in :roll: because it took both hands to hold this thing. In the end I got them all in and I was covered with sweat. Now I will be taking this thing apart and putting it back together many many many times in the future and I do NOT want to do this every time. Any tricks to get the frame to hold a particular shape??? |

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions I'd think it would just spring back to the original position after it cooled. When it's all assembled does it really tweak it that much? It looks to be only a little off center to center. It may not be an issue after everything is bolted together. |

Re: Newbie Working on a New Build - LOTS of questions From what I see the lower frame rail that bolts to the bumper, mine "looks" about 1" taller in the front. My other wraith the shocks are much more forgiving and the ones I have on are stiff. The shock oil I used was 30 and I even put all the parts that will be on the rig on it and it never lowered. Just seems way too stiff and again, the arms do not look right. The front uppers touch the servo |
