Now I'm gonna have to start bringing the body/chassis dimension tech tool with me to comps Curious to see what you come up with for a measurement. I most likely won't be following, but still interested in the outcome.

I want to clarify.... What Vertec did was clever. He had basically designed his own chassis. All I did was try to move my front uppers to that extra bottom hole in the rockshow ss chassis. To do that, I had to move the inner chassis up. That it happened to solve all my problems was coincidence. I don't know if its legal. I didn't measure. I had not planned on all those changes...like I said it all started by trying to move the uppers. Besides...you can't raise the rockshow cab anymore, so if it isn't legal, I'll have to figure out something else. Vertec, I never tried spacing out the uppers at the axle. Scott tried it and it made his rear axle all floppy. I had similar experinces doing that with the OG Rockshow, so I didn't mess with it. So Ill go measure and see if its legal our not. |

Yes...it is not legal. its actually off by a good bit. It is apparent to me now why several of the new chassis are running those high cabs. I never gave it much thought and assumed it was for roll over recovery....duh. EDIT: You can make it legal. It requires two more bolts and an extra chassis brace. If you raise the cab back up, it will leave the upper link at the chassis unsandwiched from inbetween the cab and inner chassis. You have to put the extra brace in there and the links screw into it. That gets the cab back up where it was, and still keeps the geometry the same. It adds a few grams for the extra hardware, but I think the benefits are worth it.
