Team mate took some videoclips as I was trying to find weak spots on the rig..

P2170028 - YouTube

P2170024 - YouTube

P2170027 - YouTube

This saturday is the first comp for this car and also my first comp with moa
So, could be that I will be spending time at the track some more to trying few setups..

Foams seem to be quite good so glue-on wheels might be on the way.

Got my panels painted today.

I used a sticker for template on our team logo and numbers were done with liquid mask..

Also siped the rovers a bit, fronts little more than rears.
Wheels are HPI Super stars, few packs driven, and they hold up very well.

Downsides, front could be a little wider. As narroved to 1" they have quite excactly same offset as my narrowed XR-stocks. And so there is room for only one weight on outside the holder, and had to sand a hair off inside it.
As seen, inside is rounded a bit.

And Zarizi Tech will be happy to hear that my shocks are now plain aluminium color

Time for updates..

Few comps driven, and only thing that bothers me is that darn driver

The rig performs well, as LaaLaa proved at our shakedown comp at Samuli´s parking place early this spring. LaaLaa didnt have his own car ready yet so we both drove with my rig. With "strange" car he decided to win that comp and I was fourth...

From NCD I received more carbon love, some wheels to the front. Rig needed some widht up front, and as those HPI wheels cant be adjusted, so came Tomy´s cf wheels with VP hubs. And these help also some servo/battery tray scrub at full steer..
HPI wheels stay at the back. They have held up some beating very well.

Also ordered Boss claws from Crawler Innovations along with some foams

When I get the foams dialed in, gonna glue the tires on..

Now I must take time to practice, practice and some more practice to get to know the car well, as in two weeks we will be at Nordics in Sweden.

And some maintenance also, motor overhaul and checking all over.

Front motor started to stutter a little last time we were driving with LaaLaa, as a first aid I cleaned the slots in commutator, they seemed to be full of crap.. today going driving so will see if that was the cause for it.

Geez.. Haven`t been updating much

But this rig is alive and kicking it.. Oldschool, should I say.

All in all, I have just driven it, it has worked well, I have learned its little kinks and tricks. Basic maintenance, new bearings now and then and lathe love for the motors... But now is time to move the chassis to "modern age " more about that soon..

Before the worlds I bought little upgrade for motors as I noticed Stubbies for sale in facebook.. I have thought rebuilding my rig for sometime now but didn`t want to do anything big before The big comp. So came along more power Thanks Francis Motors were just as good as you said.

Samu were little shocked to see me riding pins on both ends But hey, it worked for me there.. And yes, I have ordered Voodoos already..
Worlds went quite fine for me, despite the lack of training I ended up being 13th. which was nice...

Default XR-2: Now in 3D for your viewing pleasures..

Okay, two weeks for the first comp so maybe it`s time to start

My new weapon of choice will be Dravtechs Sudu 3D.
Yesterday I assembled the chassis and today started to dismantle the LaaLaa-special..
Luckily my old lower front links were (quite) similar lenghts as needed for this, just had to swap shorter link ends and few minor bends and they fitted, which was nice

Only rear lower links need to be made, and of course uppers..

Drawtech also provided the shocks, and they look soo fine Maybe have to tweak a little bit, but thats only natural.

Axles are doing fine, before zi Worlds I did full service for them and after that there has been no driving (Finland, winter, you know..) so no need for that now..

Yesterday we made rear links with LaaLaa, big thanks to him for machining the titaniums It is always pleasure to watch professionals at work.
Then it was time for beer and bending

Of course there was some mishap with my measurements and I had to still swap one link ends to longer ones, but now the rig is spot on..

And time for rear uppers from 4mm CF.. front ones are 3mm CF from my old rig, they are holding strong, although I might at some point make a little different lenght ones..
As I am confident that these will be near indestructible I still made one spare

And finally time to test it on my solitary rock... Only panels are on the to-do list anymore, they might be very plain ones for the first comp because of my work schedules.. and some general checkings..

And then there are the voodoos to narrow and, and, and...

Can't wait to see how well this rig will suit for your driving style. I think we will have some competition coming as there is now five SuDu MOD 3D's in the series.

Yay, quickie panels are on

Mucho to improve to next ones, but had to do these to first comp.. Or we can visit this issue next spring and notice that these same panels are still on

Now to charge batteries and packing everything up for tomorrows first comp

First comp on this is done.. And I was 7th.. Can`t blame the rig, it performs just beautifully The driver just needs more time on the rocks..

Next up is the voodoos.. Silver dots on 1" CI wheels.. still waiting for some CI foams to arrive.. Went for the narrow, these were my first attemp on doing these and, well, they are not perfect but they are still black and round(ish) so I guess they will be ok

And last but not least, a package from Dravtech came in this week with some goodies for fine tuning The Shocks
I just hope that I will have some time to dial it all in and do some practice before the Nordics...

Well, a little is considered some so all is fine..
Voodoos are on and front shocks has supasoft springs with no-preload-thingies.. 10 packs in and I`m liking it

Good training session with LaaLaa today, now it`s time to go through the rig and it`s ready for The Nordics The driver on the other hand is another story altogether
