| Calling all Spektrum DX4R Pro users
Hey all, I am looking for owners of the exact radio above. The S and the C have different screens and options so would really like to speak to someone about their MOA setup with the above radio. It seems quite simple considering that it has a pre-mixed MOA setting. For mine, I simply switched my MOA setting option from INH to AUX 1 (the other ESC was being plugged into AUX 1) but I wanted to know if any of you had problems with this or if I am missing something. I am waiting on some new electronics so would be great if I could have this answered before I get the new stuff Thanks for any help. |

Did you happen to have that radio with you today at Ioco? I'd like to take a look at the menus...maybe on the 24th. |

Maybe stick this up in the Electronics section. Might get a few more responses there. Keep in mind, the crawler forums are inhabited largely by Futaba owners.

Still no replies so bringing this back to the top. Anyone??? I may end up calling Horizon if no one else owns one of these and crawls. But, would be nice to hear from a crawler.

Well, as it turns out, one of the guys in our club has the DX4R. We've got two more comps at Ioco before the season end, so maybe you two can get together and compare notes.

Just updating that it was super easy to set up the DX4R Pro for MOA once I got my electronics sorted out. It was literally as easy as activating the MOA preset (highlight and click). Very satisfied and I am giving a thumbs up for the DX4R |

Can you explain what steps you took to calibrate both ESC's to the dx4r? did you do them both at same time or individually which channels did youhave fr esc and rear esc plugged into and did you have bec wired from the esc or battery? Im having issues getting my rear esc to calibrate at same time as front.. It seems to only calibrate while using a y-harness (both esc's into ch1 Th on the rx) ive tried setting TH dual SC mix to TH master AUX 1 slave. I'm using CC bec wired to one of my BR minis both red wires pulled from the esc's .

I am also having some trouble. Both escs have been calibrated independently. I plugged the front esc into the throttle, plugged rear esc into aux 1. I enabled the MOA setup, assigned it to switch e, and assigned to aux 1. When I pull the throttle, only the rear wheels turn. When I switch to awd, only the rears spin. When I dig forward, only the rear wheels spin. When I enable only the rear, nothing happens. I switched the escs and exactly the opposite happens. Any thing else I should try?? |

I remember this from cormier33 XR thread.. So went back and looked.. He had the same problem.. He discovered, THR bias.. (Post #118 in his thread) He turned the rear up to +68 and got everything working properly.. Now it might be turned to negative on ur's or the front +/-, but give it a shot.. |

Thanks for the advice! Looks like It comes with a switch set up to make aux1 do something already, so I changed that and it works now. Supposedly, throttle should be the rear, and aux 1 is the front. The bias then decreases the front, which seems kinda backward. Is that how y'all set up the bias? |

That seems backwards. The front esc should be in throttle and the rear in aux. The bias should come from your rear motor. What esc are you running? I don't know about the holmes but my sidewinders were a pain in the butt to get working right the first time.

I am running FXRs, and I agree, it seems backwards. I called spektrum support, very helpful, and they were convinced it was the proper way. All of my other Moa setups had the fronts as the main... Maybe I'll call them again...

I believe.. On my MT-4, I run the front motor in aux and rear in throttle.. On the MT-4, it just changes which direction the lever moves to get dig and burn to work.. Doesn't change anything else. |

I run 2 FXR's and a DX4r pro and that seems to be the correct way to set them up... doesn't make sence to me either but it works.... I have the bias set to somewhere around 88% is same front and rear 100% = more front under 88% = more rear and really not sure how I got it that way.......... |
