Wanted more ground clearance so I decided to do a front axle in the rear..this means grinding on the rear shafts a little and getting a front upper shaft . I figured I would use titanium to keep the weight down. I was pleasantly surprised to find a set of light weight gears already installed by the previous owner....score!!!

In an effort to get the weight down a little more I went with krazedbuilds carbon fiber motor plates..bigger bearings as well!!!

Thanks for the invite, subscribed to follow this build. I may have to plagiarize a few ideas for my build.

I'm OK with that fun..I basically used bits and pieces of others threads to build mine. It's done now...well close to done there are a few things I still want to do. It is up and running ready for testing

A pic of the rear finished up and put back together..added VP front upper link mount (minus the servo mount) and VP xr10 lockouts also clocked the lockouts for more clearance

The motor saver in the pic is my own creation super light but not as slick as I wanted it. I cure that later in the build

5 hour energy bottles are great motor savers... a hard and fairly slick plastic.

X2 that's what I run on my motors

Remove label and find the 2 seams in bottle and cut in 2 pieces.

Use double sided tape (servo tape) and stick on your motors.. trim as needed

Now to the front axle ..I'm not sure who makes the gears but a friend told me they are the ones people are looking for. Pretty happy about that!!! They are a greyish brown hardened steel and at some point I may do lightened gears. Also installed the Brc carbon fiber electronic plate...super light and does the trick...c.f.

I put in an order from Erik at Dlux for some FBA axles and like always they are very nice. Also had him send me a set of his xr10 knuckles and slugs. Thanks Erik!! This rig came with VP chubs. So no need to do anything there. I made a battery mount out of some .040 lexan . Not sure who makes the servo mount but it's aluminum so I'll use it for now.

I had smashed micro sidewinders in in this pic but have since went to smashed fxr's after frying an F.E.T. on a 3 slot 13t setup.....yikes major wheel speed and heat

Forgot to mention I made the custom servo guard myself out of some really thin carbon fiber

On to the wheels. I looked at several different options and decided to use the Rcbros 3 piece carbon fiber wheels...light and strong...did I say I love carbon fiber...lol!
