Default Battery Options

What batteries are you guys using? I need to pick up some more battery packs but most of what I've found exceeds the 43mm width of the battery trays.

I'm running Venom 25c 4100mah 2s and they fit great. Just ordered 2 turnigy 2s nano-tech 5000mah. Specs say they'll fit.

What ever you end up getting, just make sure it's a minimum 25C.

Keep me posted, all the 5000mah's were too wide at 49mm

Question Re: Battery Options

Can any one confirm if these will fit?
Factory Spec 7.4V 9400mAh 60C Traxxas

I already have a set of them that I run in my Summit.
And have already pre-ordered another set for the Summit, but it would be great if they fit the Yeti XL as well.

Any one have a link to where I can look up the specs on the Yeti XL battery compartment size?

Thanks.

I'm still waiting for my yeti xl to arrive since it is still in back order status but from what i have read in a different forum, those battery tray dimensions have a weeeeee bit of wiggle room. i hope they do cause the batteries i have left over from a summit i sold are 45mm wide. According to axial, that's about 2mm to wide. We shall see. If they do fit, than these are good batteries to get SPC LiPo Power, Lithium Polymer (LiPo) Battery Pack; 8200mAh, 50C, 2S, 7.4V Soft-Case

I have 8000 mAh 40c 2s and 5200 mAh 50c 3s packs that will be here in another week and a half and you won't have to mortgage your house to buy them. They are guaranteed fit and come with a 1 year warranty**.

8000 mAh 40c 7.4v Yeti XL LiPo Battery Pack

5200 3s 50c Yeti XL LiPo Battery Pack

**Warranty against manufacturers defects. Failure caused by damage or misuse is not covered.

I'm using 2 of these
Turnigy nano-tech Ultimate 7500mah 2S2P 90C Hardcase Lipo Pack (US Warehouse)
one on each side, and they fit with room to spare. I ran it wide open for 25 minutes (yes, full gas, in a 30 acre field, didn't stop) and the motor was only 90deg, the esc cold, and the batteries were still asleep when I took them out. Very nice batteries. Giant bullets on the pack, pre-angle soldered wires, and nicely made hard cases.

So after test fitting my batteries that I have that use to be for my old summit, I can definitely say that there IS wiggle room in these measurements from axial. The battery that I have is 46mm wide and fits perfect and axial says 43mm wide is the max. Just an FYI out there for people needing to shop for batteries

if the max amps are fitting, then I would say the SMC version will assuming the dimensions posted for both are correct.

Curious as well, as well as the runtime people are seeing too.

I got 25 minutes non stop field action with mine. A super hard long run. The charge put back in 6850mah, so the cutoff setting is conservative.
