PROOF aluminum front bulkhead is mandatory

New stock bulk head, new gears, new bearings, all shimmed properly. This is after 3 packs today in dirt. Just started grinding so i thought it ate the gears. Melted housing and pushed pinion out. I remember some one posted abot the front getting too hot and softening the plastic. Bearings are free no binding. Glad I have new DHAWK bulkhead and HD gear sets on the shelf.

Boy do I feel like a you know what. Look at the top pic and you will see it. Only thing I can figure is a defect. The bearings both turned when i took the pinion out but after looking at the pic I posted and seeing that bearing I went back and inspected it and it is busted. Oh well live and learn. Wierd thing is they were all new with only 3 packs on em.

This is what happened to mine. The plastic ring was up near my tranny. I had no idea where it came from untill I tore it all down. What a money pit.

Were they stock or aftermarket bearings? What brand if you don't mind? Thanks

AVID bearings. This is the first time in my 4 years of using AVID that I don't have an answer for the failure. Usually its dirt and plain ol use. But the bearing is 1.00 and I already have the DHAWK bulk head and HD gear set so not that big of a deal.
