Default ESC does not work

Hello all.
I recently received my Yeti XL last Friday.

Not even ran the car yet simply because I am not getting no power from anywhere. All batteries are fully charged only little power in the steering and the throttle seems fine.

But.. 10-20 seconds of turning the car on it stops dead cuts out and only the steering works, with only little power.

The ESC bleeps, and stays orange is this low voltage is the batteries?
I am using deans plugs adapter on my Traxxas connector batteries.

The make of the batteries are; Floureon 2s and 3s.
Tried 4 batteries, 2 2s and 2 3s just seems like there's no power anywhere.

What could this be?

Dodgy batteries? Loose wire?
Thank you.

Sorry to here man... Check if the motor wires are in the correct positions... Possibly check the rx/esc plug isn't reversed ... I also had a bad ground on my deans once that caused it to act in a similar manor..
Im sure some guys that tons of experience will help out .. The RCC search is a useful resource as well..If not call Castle Creations Ext.125 Thomas P. He's a tech guru

Just watched this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFLKaA1a7fQ

Should I try this even though I have throttle for around 10-20 seconds?

Yup check those connections, it wont hurt to re-calibrate the ESC. See Here http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...ard_XL_ESC.pdf

Also make sure your lipo cells are atleast 4.0v per cell. If you have a bad cell it can show 4.0v but under load it will drop way down to -3.5v and trigger lipo cutoff.

The ESC does not turn on, but the steering works.
The ESC randomly turns on I just had it on just now worked, bleeped.. I used the throttle it moved a bit stopped dead and ESC cut out.

Now the ESC wont turn back on.. it seems to be random.. wait a bit put the wires back in the battery boom it'll work.. then it won't?
Faulty?

All my batteries are fully charged.
Check the voltages on the cells with my voltage meter and it says there 99% full on both cells on both batteries.

I am using 2 2s LiPos 8000mah 40c

try flipping your receiver wires around, like BHB said.

the plug that goes into the esc from the receiver can be put in backwards.

this sounds like what is happening.

Good luck.

Besides your seriously unbalanced tires, I'd say you may have some faulty batteries because all looks fine to me in beeps, throttle and breaks, etc. When you plug back in the batteries the ESC doesn't recognize them. Could be a faulty LVC sensor internally in the ESC as well.

Fully charged, very well balanced. These are new batteries as from today.

Do you have any other brand of batteries you can test with? Doesn't matter if they don't fit in the bays. Just test on the bench like you're doing in the video. I know you tried 2s and 3s pairs, but I would still try another brand if you have access.

Just because they're new doesn't mean they aren't defective. I've had bad Traxxas batteries off the shelf. Floureon doesn't have the best reputation. I don't personally own any Floureon so they could be totally kick ass and I wouldn't know. I almost bought some but went with SPC instead. They may be fine but they don't have the same reputation as SMC, SPC, Helios, etc.

It's easier to test different batteries as most people have spares. Then move on to the ESC and/or receiver.

UPDATE: Some of you may have seen the problem I was having with my ESC. I took the whole car back to Model Sport and they had a good look around it for around 1 hour and came to the conclusion and told me the ESC is faulty so they have replaced it now I have a working Yeti XL! Thanks to the people who helped me out last few days.

Glad to hear you got it working (saw it on FB and here. There's better info here, btw. FB is fun to check out though). Sounds like you have a good LHS.

Let us know how the batteries workout. I like the price point but I haven't known anyone that uses them. I hate to judge from negative reviews.

Enjoy the YXL. Easy on the throttle off the line and easy on the break. Out of the box the breaking is way too strong.

I've had these batteries for around 1 year no bubbling, or dodgy cells everything is fine and I am near enough out with my rc cars everyday haha.
