| Axial Yeti XL project
S/O to sabot x I saw him get this body on YouTube so I went ahead and reached out to the guy who made this body! I had the mamba xl 1:5 system motor and I couldn't get it to fit so I went with the velineon 1600xl motor that's on the xmaxx!! Next I have to finish putting my front end together and my yeti xl build is done guys! With my gearing setup right now I should be able to get at least 70mph on this thing! The goal is 100 mph! I have to also purchase grp wheels and tires because these stock tires are horrible with this setup Last edited by Jeo-15; 06-28-2017 at 08:27 PM. |

That body is sick! Are you gonna run 8s in this thing I'm guessing? I'd like to see some speed run vids.

Damn! That's a slick rig. What wheels/tires. When you said GRP I was thinking the smaller inferno/6ix size. Those actually look good.

Yeah, hard to find 4s lipos to fit in the compartments. I could only imagine that thing with the huge xmaxx motor, tons of torque. Yeah, mod 1 is tricky. I just slapped the ROBINSON yeti setup in mine. |

There is no real good way to get bigger batteries in the yeti xl. I've mounted bigger lipos on the rear tray but that ruins the CG from being soo high. I run the regular yeti slipper which is a 56 tooth. If you're going for speed that will work out though. It's a lot better then the on/off feel of the stock slipper. SMC lipos are good lipos for the price. Another random lipo I recently tried and has been surprisingly good was from Powerhobbys. Its a 3s 5200 from them as a test and that thing stays cool and has showed no signs of puffing. I'll get that pinion size when I get home tonight. Pretty sure its just the stock size. |
