Default Stock rear driveshaft woes.

So I broke 3 HR rear shafts and 2 GMP shafts wich lasted 10 times longer than the HR. So I did the stock shaft mod with the bolt threaded down the hollow shaft. After about 15 6S runs it is starting to twist. Not bad yet but it's going south. Ordered another GMP as it served me well for a while. What is everyone else doing about the rear shaft?

AGAIN I apologize for my earlier STUPID post. I feel so bad about that.

Still on my second GPM shaft. The first one was from the first generation, so it didn't counts. What post are you talking about???

I wonder if these 8mm MIP Hubs - Super Shafty would work with the goofy Pinion. Then you could run these MIP MAD SHAFTS - Super Shafty

If it wasn't for the goofy pinion i would run the Kraken Vekta5 DS. KV2225

No mod, a while back I threaded a 5/16 setscrew into it but I couldn't fit the 2 pieces together. It wasn't till later that I realized I was supposed to tap the hole first. The plastic definitely stretched a little bit which has probably made it weaker but it has still held up for a few months, mind you I only drive 4s. I'm tempted to just buy a new stock shaft and mod it but I'm definitely looking at the gpm too.

My stock shaft twisted (only slightly) after 3 runs. I did the epoxy mod, filling the shaft to the rim. It probably can handle some more runs, but am currently bolting on the GPM steels haft now, assuming it would never break. Bit worried that you managed to break it. What happens? Does it snap?

Both broke at the front pivot where it goes on the transmission. Thought I saw somewhere here there was a second design with a stronger pivot point to correct this problem .

Yes, it is. At my recommandation Depends when you purchased yours. They upgraded the shaft sometimes between february 17th and april 1st. You can check, if the original Axial pivot (or ball end) doesn't fit the GPM cup by one or two millimeters, than you have the first version.

I went the HR route and have not looked back. Has been bulletproof.
