TRAXXAS #5626 will mount the esc. You need a Castle EBEC and extra some wire or cable to tie the 2 esc connectors together. I got a piece of Castle wire same size as esc off ebay for cheap.

I run the same set up in both my YXL. Turn the punch and brake control down with the Castle Link for 6S.

Use this and you can hook up Castle Link with out going into the receiver box to make changes.

Most important take your time and plan ahead. Time spent here will make the difference between hack and afterthoughts and nice and neat.
One thing I did but it was a pain is I bought new connectors for everything going to the receiver so I could get the wires as short as possible. Some are long and there is not much room in the receiver box especially with an ebec and y-harness.

Yes. Pick up or make your own rx bypass harness. Holmes sells them or you can also make one from a Y harness.

I think the servo comes with a metal servo horn. At least that's what I got in my 7950TH for my scx.

Why not the 7950TH? Just wondering. Extreme power just about $20 more. Or the spektrum high torque one

I'm running same combo except for servo and Bec. Get a better servo if you can. Makes a huge difference.

Holmes Hobbies and Gear Head RC have them. I prefer the Gear Head one, less wiring. I think cheaper too.

Ok so wiring up my yxl tonight, I am running cc bec 10amp ran it to my rx, hooked up esc to rx pulled red wire out, but now question I have is, I also have the castle link quick connect that gets hooked to the esc right? Should I put red wire back into the esc? So Before I plug quick connect to rx pull red wire from the quick connect?

this. its the servo NOT esc You are powering the servo through the EBEC instead of just the esc.
