Default Road Warrior Concept Body Panels

For fun I thought I try making my own body panels out of aluminum sheets. I figure this would give me a chance to change the style a bit but my experience doing this is none. But it was fun and the theme I was going for was a battle YXL and something chopped up like out of a Max Max movie.

I made the side panels longer down to kind of cover the battery trays. Also added some extra panels to make it look a bit more aggressive. These pics are not quite the finish product but its close. Still had more screws to mount.

Im now in the process of painting it. I'm aging it and adding faux rust to it and see how close I can get to the vision I have in my head for it.

So here is the abomination. Threw some paint on and experimented with fins on the rear that makes me want to add more. Or possibly load up the roof with spikes. So far she can take a beating.

Thanks for sharing your YXL adventures - cool stuff man

Like everyone else, I love this hobby

I enjoy seeing all the stuff people do with these machines - most of what we see is very creative and entertaining - some of the tinkering is for improved performance and reliability - and sometimes we just try new things because it's fun to do that (even when the results sometimes don't turn out like we hoped or expected, the journey was worth taking)

And for me, all this stuff is inspirational and makes me wanna get out there and have more fun

And remember everybody: It's impossible to have too much fun
