Default Yeti for racing, info for a newbie?

Hello,

Recently there was talk about setting up a track that someone has for some Rock Racing style action.

Really don't know much about this kind of rc-ing, but it seems the people interested all have Yetis or are getting some.

So anyway, I was thinking of picking up a kit as I would use my own electronics. And I wanted to go with compatiblity to my other RC Racing gear, so would use 2S lipos that I use on my SCT 4x4.

Based on that info, I was wondering what upgrades are must haves for racing purposes. I keep reading about the hubs stripping, etc and the beadlock wheels having issues, so I am thinking this so far:

- Aluminum Hubs
- Glue style wheels

Also, I think an aluminum motor mount as well, maybe the STRC one.

Any other items recommended?

I will also be looking to use the following electronics on 2S:

- IP 7600mah or similar lipo, inboard connector
- Viper VTX8 ESC
- Viper VF4500 motor or a Hobbywing 3656SD Motor (like a "545" sized can) 4000kv motor

wonderinf if any fit issues with any of that?

Finally, has anyone used different slipper pads like garolite material from RC Shox or similar?

You'll need to do something with trailing arms, be it plates or aluminum replacements. The steering would be next on the list but I'd run it first and see how you like it and also how it compares to other running the same course, etc.

The kit addresses the issue of the trailing arms by including aluminum plates.
