Default Front bulkhead/screw issue

So I am putting my yeti back together and I get to the bulkhead brace. Making sure I put all the screws in the right place I start screwing everything down. I get to the 4 front screws and the one in the upper right wont screw in all the way (see pic). It bottoms before it can tighten all the way down leaving a gap at the top of the screw head. Now the other side goes in fine. Iam using the correct screws. I just dont get it. I did notice that one of the screws had plastic on the threads and I can only assume its from this hole. It had to be like this from the factory?? Its an rtr and this is the 1st time Ive had it apart. Im not knocking axial or complaining just sharing.

So what I had to do for this hole was to take and grind off two threads of the screw and apply CA to the screw to get it to bite. Hopefully there is enough bracing in the front and this doesnt turn into a problem.

Any one else see or have this problem?

Maybe try to blow some air into the hole and see if any debris comes out.

Drill the hole 1/8 deeper. A 1/8 drill bit is like 2.6mm if memory serves. Use a bit that's not as wide as the hole and don't go too deep and you can use the fine thread screw that is stock.

i ended up drilling it slightly and used a 5-40 screw as the whole was stripped out from me trying to screw the stock screw in all the way.

thanks for the replies guys!

Same thing happened to me after I tore it apart. Same screw, same thing that you described. I'm just going with it. No issues yet.

My RTR had 2 screws stripped going into front bulkhead out of the box.

I emailed Axial twice about the issue and never got a response.

I tossed the plastic bulkhead and ordered an aluminum GPM unit and it's solid now.
