| Frontend not rebounding
So I've had my Yeti RTR for a few months now and noticed that the front end isn't rebounding like it used to. I'm using the stock front springs and tried both 30 and 60wt oil, I also tried adjusting the preload. When I push down on the front end with all 4 tires on the ground it comes back to maybe 1/3 the full height. When pushing the tires up by hand they rebound 100%. I did have two bent hinge pins that were replaced after noticing this and the shocks look like they are in good condition. There doesn't appear to be any binding when I disconnect the shocks and move the a-arms. Not sure if it matters but all of the steering parts have been replace with aluminum parts (HR & Vanquish). Few other questions: Are there any good replacement hinge pins? What is everyone using for shocks? Are the Icon shocks worth upgrading to? If they are, whats the correct part number? Looks like the Yeti has 3 sets available. |

Icon are the same as stock, but you do get the Delrin piston, but you can buy those for your shocks. You need to check the shock shafts. Also shocks under the vehicles weight shouldn't rebound 100% unless you want it sprung wrong. The ride height should be restored after compressing and letting go when the truck is on the ground. Proper ride height for the Yeti front, is the Axles should be parallel to the ground. If its not rebounding all the way, you need to add preload. You could also need to change to a stiffer spring. |

I bet your springs have sagged out, I would recommend the 14x70mm blue springs from axial. These Springs! |

Depending on the spring and the preload, that could be a normal amount of rebound. Take the spring off the shock and cycle the shock with your hands, if it doesn't feel smooth then your problem is in the shock. Probably a bent shaft or dried o-rings.
