Mine didn't need any shims. FI locker with 43/13 gears.

Didn't shim mine and also using FI spool but 38/18 HD gears. No issues so far.

Eric from D-Lux has made a really good job figuring the position on the new bearing so you will most likely not need to shim. In the yeti I built for a friend, after a while, the HD gears broked in, I added a little shim. All D-Lux I used didn't need any shimming with new HD gears ( yeti or wraith) from the start.

Theses axle combine with Beeftube bullet proof the drive traive quite a lot. I don't built anything without these!!!

Good work Eric, since Axial don't seem to realize the abuse we give to these rigs!!!

I agree with the above statement. Dlux housing, Beef Tubes, Dlux G10 Truss, and your flavor of aluminum lockouts....no way you're breaking the axle! I need aluminum housings...likely the VP clamping ones...simply because one of my stock plastic ones has a stripped screw hole on top, which prevents the truss from holding in place. Can't exactly loc-tite into plastic.

I run my wrexo with D-Lux modify housing, beeftube, and SSD wide lock out and if you put Loctite in the beeftube threaded holes, they don't come loose.

I use Permatex gel thread and since it doesn't dry hard like the liquid Loctite, the lockout don't come loose. And I pound on the Wrexo pretty bad!!!

I've heard of people having issues with the STRC lockouts, which is why I'm going with the VP clamping ones. Everything else on my rig is STRC, but I didn't wanna chance it on the axle.

Wiggly was something VP used to have on their aluminum housing to their VP lockouts, I think they fixed this in later chubs. Even perfectly threaded and tight screws there was always a tough of the wiggles and would wiggle more and more.

I used tin foil on the splines to tighten up the fit, worked great.
