| Well.. after a hiatus im back, now with a yeti
I spent some time here a while back in the losi comp crawler forums. Did the local NC events and had a good ol time doing it. I got into helis for a while and stuck with quads for the past few years. Ever since I saw the yeti preview before the release ive wanted one. I never could pull the trigger and buy one but finally did the other day using my discount codes on tower. Been reading and lurking here and most of the negative things ive read were "you shouldve bought the kit"... so thats what i did. itll be here tomorrow in the mail and im looking forward to getting started on it. I already have my radio (dx3r) and my receiver setup from my other builds in the past. Ill be spending a good bit reading more and more about what people are finding are the best fluids for shocks and diffs. I see this about the XL running 200k front and 500k rear, but havent found the answer yet on the regular yeti. Well just wanted to post up and say hello, this time as a soon to build yeti owner. |

I did the same thing today. I ordered one from tower. I got the RTR. I've got a deadbolt now but want something a little more faster.

| Re: Well.. after a hiatus im back, now with a yeti i wanted the RTR but I read so many things talking about all the weak links. I dont want to have to buy a ton of hopups right off the bat, and you need to just about tear the RTR back down to do the proper checklist anyways. I liked the icon shocks more than the RTR shocks and the HD gears in the kit vs the regular gears in the RTR truck... I still wanted it true to form so i ended up buying the stock electronics for the RTR to put on my kit. They may not be "fast" but im not really into 50+ mph trucks any more. I just something thatll move pretty good that I can play with. Ill upgrade things as they break if need be, but didnt want the biggest weak links to be what were holding me back on day 1.

I'd say the best truck I've ever owned was my old hpi nitro rs4 MT.. I've still got it and I've never loved anything else rc like I loved that truck. It would be the old equivalent of the hell storm I believe they call it now. The yeti looks like a really cool rig and I'm definitely looking forward to having a little fun. | |

Does the kit come with upgraded steering components? That's a much needed improvement if not.

Ive now built some strong arms using stainless rod and rpm arms. I installed my deuces wild foams yesterday. Tomorrow my aluminum front skid arrives in the mail and I'll install it as well as my new 12.9 grade bolts I hope to use as new hinge pins. Also received my axial wide axle kit today although my offset will be unusable on my rear wheels until I receive my vanquish axle hub adapters on Tuesday of next week.
