Default Yeti steering shake/on off... Help!

Hi guys,
So I bought a 2nd hand Yeti RTR with a bunch of upgrades.
Reliability has been similar to that of a 80's Alfa-Romeo but slowly I've been ironing out the problems.

Now I'm confused with the steering:
Installed a Savox 1256tg and a Castle BEC @ 6v.
Steering is not linear (judders threw the steering angles, unless I go straight lock to lock).
Then suddenly the steering will stop working (savox whine stops as well) and rc will rebind and start working again.
Bec light stays on all the time.
Steering linkage and servo saver has been upgraded by the previous owner all aluminum (don't know the brand but I opened it up and seems all ok)

I'm at a complete loss as to the cause of this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe try pulling the BEC out and test. Under no load the servo won't pull too many amps and your ESC will handle it just fine.

Have you tried plugging in a different servo? That would tell you whether the issue is the servo itself or something else.

Also might check the on/off switch. The jittering and then restarting thing is what mine did when the on/off switch quit working. I just cut it off and soldered the wires together.

If the BEC is wired the way the instructions show, ie.. straight to the battery plug, the light will stay on anytime there is a battery plugged in.

Also might disconnect the steering linkage from the servo arm and move the steering by hand. Sometimes you can have binding in the linkage that you think is the drag from the servo when actually something else is wrong.

Thanks for the help!
Problem soved, was actually 2 problems:
On/Off switch was deleted solved the intermittent... on/off
Steering shake was down to transmitter battery plug half loose

Hopefully after all the troubleshooting and maintenance my Yeti will start giving me more run times

Thanks again!
