| Suggestions anyone?
Just installed a new Sensored Tekin 3000kv motor and Castle Mamba Max Pro ESC. Programmed and ran it today and it cuts out. I loose steering and throttle. If I hold it in my hand it runs and steers smooth every time but under load it consistently cuts out. Only have a 250oz torque servo in out so I don't think it's a Brown out issue. I'm new to the hobby and could use some help here, thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well all the pieces are there just gotta figure it out. If its cutting out completely like that maybe its a radio/transmitter issue is it calibrated and everything? Most of my experiences with cutting out like that have been related to the radio. Or turning the truck on with a knob on the radio adjusted for steering or throttle turned all the way up etc. it doesn't like that. (I'm using rtr radio and transmitter ) Or it could be a wire getting pulled or a connection going bad under acceleration, its not happening in your hand but its happening when it moves kind of thing are the wires neat and tidy and the solder joints good? bump Last edited by Mountainsofbeer; 05-23-2017 at 06:02 AM. |

Hmm good thought. As it works 100% in my hand which means the radio is close to the receiver. But once I drive it away from me then it starts cutting out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sounds like your typical weak Castle BEC issue. Buy and install an external BEC and that should solve you problem.

Shoot. I was hoping that wouldn't be the issue considering the money I just put down for it. From the sound things this is a classic Castle issue huh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OK can we stop Castle bashing ? No , well then let's deal with the facts. I have the same rig. Let's weigh it. Wow that is heavy, we need a servo that won't stall and increase the draw and cause a brownout. As you can see I run that also. When I ran my savox1256 I had the same issues. I went to a 400oz servo , and a bec. The savox1231 will work, but if you run a big torque servo, run a separate bec and a Holmes bypass. I'm running a Hitec on the Yeti and love the response Hang up and Drive |

Watch your leds If the ESC leds restart and chime you lost power or signal. Figure out what issue is. If it's antenna or rx problem the led on the rx will go out. If it's a brownout, the rx led will stay on, the esc will flash. You have described two totally different issues Hang up and Drive

Nobody is bashing Castle. I mentioned the fact that their internal BEC has sucked in all of their old ESCs. That was true. Even the blindest of Castle fanboys can admit that. But honestly, there were a lot of valid reasons to bash Castle in the past. They seem to be a different company and their products are much, much better these days. Why do you take comments about Castle so personally? I don't understand it. Do you have a running video by chance? The sounds and sights help a lot when trying to diagnose a problem remotely.

I've always had good luck with all my Castle stuff. Never any bec issues on small servos with SW3 or MMP or MM2. Hang up and Drive |

Unless you've wired it so the servo is powered direct from the BEC, and only receives signal from RX. But that's a whole other rabbit hole, so let's just stick with the "normal" BEC set up.

Good info in both of these threads: Electronic Problems? You probably need an External BEC Definitive Radio, Power Wiring, BEC and Servo Threads-- RCC's Top Tech Threads! |
