Ahh, you must be speaking of the 2 tabs that stick off the the factory stock ring gears. Is that what you had to modify?

These spools do not have provisions for those 2 tabs as they were designed around the Hardened Axial ring & pinions which do not have those tabs.

I don't believe it has anything to do with SCX10 vs. Wraith.. I believe those two rigs to be the same as far as axle construction goes.

Glad to hear to go it taken care of.. you should be good to go

Could you show a picture of these inside a scx10 axle? What's the difference between these, stock, and your grip lockers? What are the benifets here?

Thanks in advanced.

There is an SCX10 axle in the first post. That is the Vanquish SCX10 aluminum housing. It would fit into position exactly the same way inside of a plastic SCX10 axle housing but, wouldn't have a removable differential cover.

The Spool's are light weight and easy. They require no setup.. Just bolt them on and go. The flats on the axle shafts simply slip into position inside of the Spool for a snug fit. The Spools are ideal for plastic SCX10 housings because they don't require any modification to the housing.

The Lockers are heavy duty, "no-slop", set screw clamping Lockers. They utilize big M5 set screws on either side of each axle shaft that clamp down hard creating a "no-slop" situation. They require a little more setup and they are ideal for axle housings with removable differential covers so that you can access the set screws easier. The Lockers would require one to slightly modify a plastic SCX10 axle housing to allow access to the set screws when the axle halves are bolted together.

They are both great. I use a Locker in the front axle and a Spool in the rear.. Just because.

If I had plastic SCX10 or AX10 housings, I would go with the Spool because it's easier and works great.
Those using VP housings, Wraith/Ridgecrest housings, VP Currie housings, etc.. I would go with either one you prefer.

Both the Locker & Spool will work in any Axial compatible housing with little or no modification.

Stock Lockers can be weak & loose. They are not machined pieces like these and there can be several components including plastic pieces. They are susceptible to failure.

Thanks!

Try them for yourself. They are the most affordable aftermarket machined spool you can buy.
