I was looking over the itinerary and noticed,
Friday:

8:00am tech begins for all classes

12:00am courses open for 2.2S (shaft driven no dig no MOA); this is not a beginners class, and the courses will reflect that.

^^^12am start is early, better get the scalers out with the lights to help out...

It would keep large groups with 40 spotters for each driver split up, and keep everyone from swarming one course while others sit empty for most of the day then get swamped at the end. Also limit the drivers to 1 spotter. The judges should not have to fight their way through the crowds on the course they will ultimately have to run 30-60 times.

Assigning courses has good and bad. The bad is if you split up groups of guys who traveled for days to go to a big comp and hang out together they wont be happy. The good is that it "helps" keep things more organized. Locally we DO assign courses however we group the guys together who want to run together and once everyone is done with their first course they can split up and go do whatever courses they want. This gets our day started off with equal numbers of guys at each course and also gives the drivers their freedom to do what they want. I can tell you first hand being broken up from the guys I want to drive with is not optimal and will deter guys from coming. Picture The Violator and TSK being paired up to drive together in the same group all day. I think the time cut off was the best solution and guys should have enough common sense to to NOT spot for the guy right in front of you.

We have the system down pretty well. The 6 of us usually stagger our cars with other competitors or ourselves to ensure we each have a spotter for one another. No not 5 guys watching one car, usually one or two, but we do travel from course to course. Looking for the fastest line and alternating who goes first. Having this system makes sure we are plugged in and have a spotter.

The last three national comps we have been done with at least 1.5 hours of time left before the cut off with plenty of time to spare.

The key is having small "groups" not 15 guys.

Set a time line, have smooth running courses and confident judges the event will run smoothly. the only thing I can honestly say could use help with from comp to comp is making a set line. How many times have you heard, where does the line start? Also, how many times have you set your rig down when no cars were present, turn around, and your 4 cars behind
This is the way that makes the most sense. If guys would just use common sense to keep the day flowing there shouldnt be any issues and everyone gets what they want. IMO of course.

I thought about it and we don't need to complicate things any further.

We all know what the issues are and what needs to be addressed.

If the judges need people out of the way they will say it, if they need someone to run they will find them.

Hi guys,
Question on how registration works. This is my first BIG comp, so it's all new to me.
From the looks of the registration site, I have to purchase an entry fee, 2.2 pro, and 2.2 Shafty if I want to run those classes? $60ish. Why the entry fee on top of the class entry fee? Is this entry fee a spectator fee? I really hope not.

My plane tickets from Korea are bought! Now to register for this!

the entry fee is for drivers only, to help cover costs of the event shirts, the comp location, trophies, giveaways, rentals, USRCCA fees, and whatever else we will need to make it a successful and memorable event for everybody.

we encourage free spectating

We had a comp at willow lake boat docks today and we realized there might be some gnats going on at the shootout as it is so close to the water, summer will hopefully kill some off but bring the bug spray , or according to crawlerdad, dryer sheets.

I had reservations about entering 2.2 shafty as it is home in Tucson and I don't have any time to work on it or get wheel time on it. So tickets bought for 2.2 pro! Awwwwwe yeah!!!

People talking about buying tickets. How do you pre enter?

Who owns that area the city or the rv park. In Prescott for the night and happen to have my rc. Was thinking to go for a quick crawler early before we head out of town. Info?

idrather,
The rocks are owned by the city, you can access the rocks from willow lake boat dock ($2) to take a look around.
