Finally got my new XR out on some real rocks and had a complete blast. This car is just too awesome!

Me and Mr c went to linda vista and crawled for a few.
When i drove my exceed i couldnt get one pack through it before it broke but today i broke the record! 3 packs and no carnage...well cept for the paint failing to stick to the body.

Nice to see you got it running already. What kind of paint did you use? Maybe that was all in the prep job.

Usually I use fine steelwool to sand inside and wash with soap to prep. Looks like soon that body will be clear again for repaint.

hmm, now thinking about it, when i saw your body earlier, it seemed like you might have not dried the body thoroughly enough. because i dont understand how else there is that air pocket on the front curve area, in the smaller curve.

Also, there is a possibility that you didnt shake the paint can, leaving the mix to be more watery than paint.

Brownie: ive never sanded bodies to get paint on and ive never had paint chip, rather get rubbed off from wheels or lexan cracks. Also, he used tamiya, and ive never had tamiya chip off, after using like 15 cans of tamiya paint, but i have had issues with pactra paint..

I'm surprised that Aaron used Tamiya paint. I've always had good luck with them.

Do agree that Pactra stuff doesn't stick so well. I use them still some colors aren't really too bad and they are cheaper.
