Default GCM Scale Truck Conversions for Axial and Venom

This Scaler Conversion kit from GCM has been around the world for a couple of months now, but debuting from the manufacturer here on RCC. Read about the CrossCanyon Scaler Conversions from GCM here at this link.
Each CC Scaler Conversion comes with a pair of CrossCanyon Frame rails, a Delrin center skid plate with internal lower link mounting, a GCM Transfer Case complete kit made from choice hardened steel, stainless bearings, and billet anodized aluminum, a solid billet aluminum frame rail servo mount, and a front transmission plate to mount an Axial trans or a Venom trans. All the parts are fully machined and all aluminum parts are black anodized, and each kit includes a full set of black hex hardware to put it all together.

This scaler chassis was specifically designed to bolt up direct to your Axial or Venom Creeper Transmissions, but mounted in the nose where it belongs. Add some droop or scale shocks, and you are driving. Each setup allows for multi link suspension assembly, and also works great with MIP and similar CVD drive axles for all positions.

The completed assembly is shown below on these trucks using AX-10 parts for running gear. Some of the available setup options are shown here, and give an idea of the versatile assembly options using these same parts.

Motor forward:

The separate parts can be seen also here at this link and on RCC for front servo mounts , center skidplate and t-case and front motor mount options. The prices for the Axial OR Venom conversion kits are $157 and includes everything shown in the top 3 pictures. The Axial kit and the Venom kit differ only in the motor plate that is included. (they do not interchange, there is a specific mount for each). Scaler conversions are available on the GCM Shopping site at this link.

How long is the chassis and does it come with a rear spacer?

Good questions. The length of the chassis is 17.625 long as you see it here, and with the double holes front and rear, you can trim off a half-inch from either end and still have bumper holes.
There are no rear spacers included, although any of the axial crossers work great, including their battery tray hoops. Interesting, but if you use the axial battery tray AND hoops, they bolt on directly over the t-case where the double hole set is on the center of the frame. (very easy battery tray setup....).
The frame rails are 80.5 mm inside, same as Axial parts. In that case, it's simple to add your stock skidplate as a rear crosser, or up on the rear tower to make a body mount or another configuration.

Not sure why I didn't put in the VENOM pictures, but here they are below, showing the VENOM conversion mount, and installed on the CC Scaler Combo kit, as well a build that we have here:

I am using these as spacers:

Bolt them together with a grub screw:

And they fit nicely between the chassis rails.

i am sure you won't be let down with the community response to a version using a summit tranny!!!!

i am planning on building a big, ladder framed, solid axle, not particularly too scale, 2 speed basher this summer, and this chassis may be the ticket if i can use a summit tranny on it!

Well, the summit trans hasn't happened, but we are seriously considering offering a 2Speed AX2 front motor mount, like our SCX mounts.
Funny that this thread started 3 years ago, and the chassis is still going strong, I think it's in year 5 now
