| MFD F2 Bodyless Chassis MFD F2 This is a berg specific chassis design I have been working on this design for quite some time now and am pleased with how it performs. I wanted something that did not look too space age and that resembled a truck or truggy. For a Delrin design this is an extremely ridged chassis. Just like most chassis designs this one offers a solid platform to adjust and modify to the individuals liking. PRICE WILL BE $45 SHIPPED IN CON USA Also comes with an extra skid for modification purpose. Panel template also included. Made from 1/8th in. Delrin, skid is 3/32nd in. Delrin, and all hardware is stainless. Designed for a 3 1/2 in. to 3 3/4 in. shock eye to eye. The shock locations are specific in design so any shock angle change will not move chassis up or down, that is adjusted with shock eye to eye. Paypal is mfawv@comcast.net Please leave complete info, name, address, how many, and RCCrawler name if applicable. these are limited in supply so first come first serve. i figured i should give a little history on the design. the F1 was the first bodiless design i did and the only difference was the angle of the skid was less on the F1. break-overs were not as good so back to the drawing board i went. well i did shave some weight by opening the windows on the cab and lower chassis. i did run the F1 for a few months and even went to nationals in Vegas last year with it and finished 68th. i know, not that good of a finish but it was not the design that faltered it was the driver. so after doing some 4 link calculating i gave the F2 more angle on the skid for better break-overs and all around performance. by mixing the chassis with the MFD berg 4 link mount i have got great geometry out of it and am very very pleased with the F2 design. there is still more to come with this design platform and am constantly trying to improve my knowledge of geometry and incorporating that into the MFD chassis's. thanks for your time and i hope you enjoy these as much as me and the others that are using them. thanks, mike Last edited by mfawv; 04-01-2012 at 12:25 AM. |

thought i would show how the shock mount work. the top pic show the adjustment for shock angle with two position options. one at @ 48* and one at @ 45* depending the location of the shock at the axle, whether or not you clock the axles or not. the bottom one shows the shock length adjustment that allows for two different lengths. the upper two holes are for a 3 3/4 in. shock and the lower two are for a 3 1/2 in. shock, any where in between that is good. i run a 3 7/8 in. eye to eye in the front. you can try a 4 in. shock but from experience it has not worked out yet, you end up too tall. if someone does a setup with a 4 in. shock on the F2 and it works let me know i would like to see there setup. I'm talking eye to eye on the shock. maybe in the future i will add two more holes higher up on the chassis. |
