You guys don't know how lucky you are...

I'm actually gonna show this thread to my wife.

She hates that I spent $500 building my rig. (she's threatened to leave me several times if I spend another DIME on it.)

Since I was spending so much on my crawler she cut me back to a $20 a week allowance. :-( And that's not just crawler money... that's for anything I want to do that doesn't directly benefit her or the kids...

Well my wife finally found my pile o' reciepts and next thing I know she added up the whole thing. Keep in mind I currently have 6+ vehicles to support including a TLT/Bruiser, 2x Ax-10's, TXT super, RS4 Pro2 drifter and Rally.

Can any of you guys guess how much I've spent in the last year and a half?

Here is some advice for you guys, don't keep your RC crawler reciepts!
I keep mine around for the same reason, in case I need to return something. So far I've been lucky and the wife hasn't look into them much. But I did make the mistake of adding up one years worth of receipts and I was blown away. Since then I don't add them up anymore.

Sounds like a good compromise to me.

Yeah, they don't like it much when you spend your hard earned money on something else that you enjoy...like a hobby!

I know I have definitely spent less on crawling than racing...but not by much!

That was just paypal and just crawler related stuff!

I may have sold $1400.00 of that and maybe only $250.00 went in my pocket.

Yes, I know I have a problem...
BD - I applaud you...The first step is admitting you have the problem.:

Oh yeah that bastard also got about $7500 in free stuff this year
That is exactly why we have separate bank accounts. I get to spend my money and she gets to spend hers. No questions asked...most of the time that is!

She saw a set of Mayhem beadlocks at our last comp and wants some. I sounded like the wife.... "what's wrong with the beadlocks you have???"
I've tried that. She was pretty amped to start racing with me and then she got to witness my transformation from hobbyist to obsessed. I think that might have scared her a little.

I'd buy more if I didn't have to buy groceries for the kids! It's the "guilt" part I have a problem with. I can't imagine how a "crackhead" feels after he spends all of his money on drugs. Haha....
