Default Those of you with cool jobs....

How did you get it?

Sorry, not you Burger King man. Nobody cares you flipped 27 Whoppers in 2 minutes (beating out a blind Koala) to become the assistant manager and live in eternal burger glory.

You cool guys know who you are.

If you wonder why a man who takes his name from the king of fried chicken wants to know how the hell you have a cool job, its because I get out of the navy in a year and a half and dont know what the hell I want to do.

I got my job by incoorperating my own business. A few years back I was giving enough people advice on electronics that I figured I could probably sell em too! Now my job is to play with toys.

I got my degree in Electrical Engineering and started my career desiging 480V distribution networks in industrial facilities. I've always been fascinated with automation (home automation, etc.) and would help out the instrument group whenever I had time. I finally merged into the instrumentation field and now am a process controls engineer for a local oil refinery. It's pretty cool to write a program and watch stuff actually work the way you intended!

Ive always created my own niche, found a need and filled it. I have not gotten rich by any means, but have always been free to do what I want (or usually at least)

Went to college and found that my attention span sucks when attendance is not required. Joined the Navy. After that answered an ad to sell copiers. Did that for 12 years. Got an offer to sell contract office furniture and I have been doing it for 4 years now. I knew that a life in sales was for me when I saw my Dad do it all of his life. I love the freedom (sometimes too much ) and I get to play way more than I could ask for. Plus it is fun sticking people in cubicles.

I've worked in a model shop for the past 4 years and I consider it to be a pretty cool job. I get all my stuff at trade prices and the work isn't to hard. I’m just trying to convince the boss to start stocking crawler spesific parts so I can get even more trucks built.

I work as a machinist.Kind of boring at times but I work for a real good company. They let me use the machines for personal stuff which is how alot of people here have been able to get rock rings from me.
A friend of mine got me the job while I was in a work release program from jail. It's the ONLY good thing to come from the stupid stuff I did while younger.

Remember kids, stay in school and DON'T do drugs.

I made my own work, started of as a small sideline slash hobby but is now doing OK, not enough to leave my "real" job which is also a self owned business! I basically work my own hours. Best thing is to find a niche as someone mentioned and fill it. Plus timing is everything!

Spent 3 years at ITT in Multimedia, and about a year in Electronics. The best way to get a good job is to go to college

When I was a freshman in college I took every penny to my name ($4000.00) and invested in

some stocks that my brother-in-law had given me a heads up on...

I litterly lived on bread and water for 12 weeks but then I got lucky and one of the investments

paid out big. Having grown acustomed to living frugal I re-invested every penny...

I acutally waited tables just to eat the customers leftovers off their plates!

At parties I was "that guy" that picked up your adult beverage if you sat it down.

After my 6 years of school I graduated, payed off all my school loans and bought my first house

all with the same week. Not too bad for a kid, I guess.

I took what I learned then and applied it to every job I have ever had.

(I don't eat leftovers anymore)
