| Well, she bought a new rav 4 last year...not sure why...she was upset that she couldnt get it with a tape deck or in a stick. They live in a small neighbor hood on a dead end street and they do not have room to keep it. She actually told a guy the day before I came to get it that it was no longer forsale after he got there. She told her husband that he wouldnt take care of it and she wasnt selling it to him and asked him to leave . This is no joke, she was crying when we pulled up with the car trailer. Before I left, she had me take a picture with it and she took pictures as we drove off with it. The truck isnt perfect and at 234K its needs some TLC which I am willing to do (Im a toyota mechanic ) and from what I was gathering, her husband felt it was time for it go. i will get a picture of the "thank yous" she sent out for its B-day. |

My favorite! Jobs always pay more than necessary. No rust though here in CA. I have done a few older F-350 crew cab duallys with cracked frames (one broke in half) and an '04 Expedition (theft recovery). Your 4-runner is really clean for an east coaster, I know you will take care of it. I'd like to get a 4-runner to replace my '83 some day.

| Haha yeah they hold up so well Quote:
yeah 68 hours warranty time is what I am hearing, you should see the care package it comes with (brake lines, new leafs, shackles, lower control arms, ball joints, a million nuts and bolts etc). We started adding up all the warranty time plus the cost of the frame and parts and I dont see why they arent buying these ones back like the others. I hear pulling cabs off on fords is a normal thing for doing some head jobs...so far my friend says its really not all that bad, I have been helping him quite a bit...just sux building the new truck up on the floor because he doesnt have another lift next to that. They actually came and put that lift in for us to do them because we have all in ground dual post lifts. As for the 4runner, I am stoked about it big time... I grabbed the dealer plate durring lunch and came home and got it and drove it back to work. I cant wait to get it on the road, I have feeling the Taco is going to be sitting a lot. Quote:

WWWAAHAHAHAHAHAH Thats to funny! NOT AT ALL, I work on what I am told to work on...that includes 02 chevy camaro window regulators (worst idea ever to bolt a regulator into a fiber glass door), auras with no A/C, 89 olds with coolent leaks...Yeah thats right, we are a NYS DMV "Repair Shop" so we fix it all...including all the shitastic used cars we sell thats are useless used car dept cant fix... It was never like this at the other dealers I have been too but I must say in the year I have been here I have become a much better mechanic. O and for safety purposes, no I dont fawk with the batts on the hybrids...I just do everything else...I think technically your not even suppose to change oil on them if your not certified... Thanks, the white Taco is momma dukes' new rig, it has a 6" fabtech kit.

I got shafted at work today at 4:00 with a fawkin water pump on a rav4 (we work till 4:30...normally). After I got done with that I stayed to about 8 working on the 4runner. I drained the front and rear diffs and filled them back up with mobil 1 synthetic. Same for the T-case and trans but, on the trans I cut the amount about 60/40 with mobil 1 10w-30 engine oil. Doing this makes the shifting butter smooth and helps a lot on the colder days with the shifting. Ran my old Tacoma that way for years, always pulled into the next gear real smoothly. I cleaned the T/B out and then decided to get that shitastic front bumper off...I thought I was going to have to cut it off but I was surprised to find that I got every nut and bolt out with out even using any Brake fluid to free up them up. I think it looks better already (shitty cell phone pic) Tomorrow I am going to change the oil...couple of times...then change the filter. After that I am going to get the nerfs and back bumper off. I ordered the cool tool today for doing the valve adjustments on these things. I never had my own and no one at this dealer actually has one...kinda surprising. Having the tool makes it 10x IMO. Then ill replace the valve cover gasket and half moons...thinking of doing the oil pump and crank seal too...definitely has been leaking oil for long time, there is so much of it everywhere its kind of hard to tell where its coming from.
