it's been covered, and I have the same opinion as pretty much everyone else-the link mounts look stupid, the knuckles look stupid, and they should have kept the same width. In short, they aren't listening to us at all.

Thinking Going All BERG & a little mouse told me theres a new version of the axle...

I agree. The wheel companies had to make wheels just for the bergs, now they are changing the width.......they will probably have to make another new offset to get them right. The link mounts are going to suck IMO. Once they come loose a few times, they will never clamp back down like there supposed to. I dont know what they are doing with the upper mounts. I emailed them a few months ago and tried to talk to them about the mounts.......I dont guess they listen to us little crawlers that dont know much about it.

Thats because you were posting in a build thread. Chit chat is where it should be at. ( I did it too.)

Yep, this is the proper section to voice your opinion on the axles BigB_117, not somebodies personal build thread.

I think the upper link mount is a major issue, and it will be very difficult to get clearance for a narrow chassis for links/shocks on the short side, among other things. Who runs MOA's anymore anyway:-P:-P

I guess that's not allowed. LOL.

I like that the new axles haven't been bead blasted to death and the larger gear box makes me think the gears may be bigger/stronger.

But other than that the width sucks, the knuckles look terrible, the lower link mounts are iffy (I'm worried the will loosen and move) and the upper link mount it just plain terrible. I would snap off the screw in a 30 min practice session. The link mounts might be fixable with new parts. Same with the knuckles.

Saver mentioned a 1 piece inner shaft? While that might be stronger I'm worried it will be a pain to swap out when it snaps.

X345 on that. I was waiting to see what the new ones were like before I bought a set and I am glad I did. I will def. be picking up at least one set of V1's. Man can a company screw up the only thing they had worht buying?

Berg axles are a niche product. Sales should represent our feelings more than they would with a mass market product (example Cliff Climber that sells really well in mass market).

I am sure there will be many to buy the new ones to take a look. I will have a set to see if I can design some parts to fix some of the problems. All in all, no likey.

Thank you all for the ideas!!! We are working on trying to make the best possible upgrades for the NEW Berg axles. We are trying to get them ready by the time the new axles hit the US market. ANY input is welcome!!! This all could not be possible without people like you guys!!!

Thank You!!!
Jason

Oh, and by the way. The chassis is our very own Katana chassis incase anyone was interested!!

I somehow don't believe this will change anything. A lot of money has been spent on making these "V2" axles without doing any research, I don't think they will go back and just touch up the V1s like they should.

why would you when everything you already have (wheels and spare parts) aren't compatible with the new ones?

The only way that I think these would sell over to you og Berg guys if these new berg axles were compatible with the old stuff. Including the wheels that are pretty expensive.

They look OK but it's a shame they didn't get in touch with the experienced members on here to get some pro advice on them. I think I'll stick with my AX10s for the time being.

As someone much smarter than myself (and there are MANY) pointed out...

All the changes that were made on the cases was to reduce machine time and cost.

Sucks, as I was just starting to warm up to the MOA idea again. :-(
