Tried a Southern Tier Oatmeal stout. It was ok just lacked a foamy head, pretty thick with 10% alcohol count. In the colder temps like this I enjoy darker beers. But not sure I'll get this beer again.

I'm huge fan of Capital beers. Possibly its do to the brewery being just 2 hours north so I get the freshest beers. I enjoy their amber's in the summer and have yet to buy a 6 pack from them I couldn't finish. Fire their autumn ale has been one of my favorites this season. Its a german style Doppelbock so it's pretty heavy on malty flavor. Its defiantly one of the better beers I've had in a while. Copper color with a rich almond head. Has a sort of brown sugar, caramel, hoppy pine flavor. Love it.

Very nice, Shoei1 and I just got into brewing too. Its addicting and I can see this hobby getting very expensive. Its only been a month and we've already brewed 2 batches (10 gallons) and im trying to figure out how soon i can make another batch.

Equipment start-up can be expensive, but after that it's all gravy. I've been brewing for the past 9 years, and brew all-grain batches, 10 gallons at a time. My cost per brew is easily under half of what my local breweries sell. I can buy 5 gallons of a local brew for about $60.....I can brew ten for just over $50....even with the recent rise in hop prices. Some of my brews have only been good enough for toybuilder and I, but I've brewed many that rival anything I can get in the store. Brewing your own beer is like building your own crawler

Keep brewing people!!

I picked up one of these on the way home from work tonight. I like to check out as many Colorado beers as possible and I love the IPA.

Not the best ever, but I'll buy it again for sure.

Very True, my start up equipment wasn't too expensive but i got just the basic starter kit. I guess like any hobby its as expensive as you make it. For me right now its like I got an RTR and now just found out about comp crawlers and custom scalers. I know once i get to the point where i can do all grain ill have bigger savings, but thats not why im into it... it is a plus though.

So did any one have any good beers for turkey day? I tried my dunkle wiezen i brewed after only being bottled for a week and it definitely needs a couple more weeks in the bottle it didnt taste quite right, but i think once they're done conditioning it should be a damn good beer.

I dont have any pictures from home, but yea.

Ive always been a big fan of Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale (7.5%)

Well over the Holliday i was able to get into a lil of the DOUBLE BASTARD

I realized that its 10.5% after I drank 2

and the back of the bottle is classic!

I like it more than the original Bastard

I didn't drink any on turkey day. I was at the parent's house and they don't drink, so considering the fact that they cooked up some awesome food and I didn't have to do any work... I was a good son and waited until today to drink my beers.

I more than made up for it though. It was like 75* here in CO today, so I cracked a beer and fired up the smoker around 11:00 am. Mmmmm IPA and ribs.
