Kenny, you know me all too well...

Sub-compact:
Springfield Armory XD40sc

Full size:
Springfield Armory XDm 40

But the best advise I can give you, find a range where you can shoot them first.

Makes for a great indoor range but when you fire a round hit the deck.

thats funny i have owned both and i liked actually having a physical safety on the springfield compared to have no safety besides keeping your finger off the trigger on the glock.

for my carry pistol i use the kimber Ultra CDP II .45 ACP i think they are in a different class compared to the glock. my wife now carries my xd-40 but i still enjoy shooting it.

Different class....you think!!!! Duh! Kimber is a total different beast compared to the Glock and XD! Your also taking about a $1K gun almost!

And I'm not going to get into the safety argument again You finger should only be on the trigger if your going to shoot it! And a Glock has 3, yes 3 safeties on it! Look it up!

the trigger safety,(meaning keep your finger off unless your firing) 2) the firing pin safety(is a pin in the rear of the gun to let you know the the chamber is loaded), and c) the drop safety( is to insure to gun will not fire when dropped).
oh i realize Glocks definition of safeties and i not argueing that they are good for what for what they are intended for, i just look for more of a manual safety when buying handguns that i carry on a daily basis.

And there a several companies that make a external safety for the Glock now as well as Glock Here is one that I like if I were going to add one....http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...afety-trigger/
