Default RCC Video posting people!!!

For crying out loud... embed your damn videos! Seriously. Why don't you folks that use YouTube just embed your damn videos? It takes the same amount of effort, copy and paste the link.

I HATE having to leave RCC to go watch a video. Just embed the damn thing so I can stay on RCC and watch the video. More people will watch it if you embed it.

Also.... Scale based videos go in the Scale Video section, non-scale videos go in the video section that is located towards the top of the forum. Non-crawling related videos go in Chit-Chat.

Remember to embed.

Yep still use the little small tapes. Works good and don't need to go buy another expesive camera for rc crawling videos. Some day I will step up to the hard drive camera's

That's tape, not film...big difference;) I rarely use my Hard Disk Drive(HDD) camera. It's cool and all but I just don't like it as much as my Mini-DV based cameras. I do use my Go-Pro a lot.

What format do you upload it to your server in? What screen size?

certain places in the forum do not allow embedding. that may be your problem

Are you guys that can't get it up clicking one of the tabs above the text box here on the forum? Like selecting to insert a URL or something? If so, don't. Just copy the embed link off of YouTube, Vimeo, etc.. and paste into text window on the forum. Hit preview to verify that it'll work.

Some forums work the embedding different, like Scale4x4 all you have to do is paste the link to the page for the video.

When I looked at the videos you have hosted on ewrcrc.com, I saw that the largest size was 116MB. Honestly, that's not that big. Also, WMV isn't the best format to use.

Uploading to to the internet is still just uploading it to the internet, no matter where you put it. One thing about places like YouTube and Vimeo is that even new people will be able to find you videos just by searching on those sites. By putting it onto your site, only time people will see them is if you tell them it's there and give a link. But that's fine.

I think Vimeo wants people to upload the best quality video they can so that it still looks good on the internet. They have mostly artsy fartsy HD folks so they strive for high quality. Here's what they recommend for compression....

...and by no means am I a video expert. I just hate seeing YouTube links when all you have to do is learn how to embed. Jason and John have allowed HTML in the video sections and in Chit-Chat. It's a nice thing to do since it might pose a security risk.
