Default Someone used my pics without my permission....

Today I was flipping through the new copy of RC Car Action magazine and saw an advertiser advertising their online store and products and noticed they used my Photos. I wouldn't have known about it if I didn't see it in the ad.
I went to that online store and there were even more full blown pics of my RC rig. The pics of my rig was used as a "sample" of what they were selling...
I just think thats wrong. What do you guys think?

Posting anything on the internet is like dumping your trash out in the street. Anyone can take it. If you don't lock down your crap... someone will take it.

I had an instance where someone used one of my images as their avatar on a car forum.

When I looked at the logs and found it I created a gif file of gay porn and renamed it to the file name they were stealing.

Hiliarity ensued.

I would just contact them and ask them to remove them. That's about all you can do really.

I know u might think its just a photo, but it actually represents something physical...my rc rig. First of all I don't think that its ok to use someones photo let alone a custom built rig and use it as a "sample" of what they are selling. If we can't fight for simple rights like that whats next?

I was over at scale4x4rc and someone gave me a link to a similar problem with them:
http://www.rcmt.biz/bd/showthread.php?t=12817

Also the pics are now gone on the site...

I wonder if Kami's email had anything to do with it?

Funny thing is, they still have the pics in a magazine ad.

Basically this, but an email asking for permission would have been better.

yeah if you take a pic it's copyrighted to you. you can fight it in court if you can prove you took it.

I guess its good they took them off their site but they did it so quickly it shows they know it was wrong. I'm sure you could sue and get quite a bit of $ for them stealing your picture and it being in all the magazines...
