Default Hilux SCX

UPS guy delivered this:

Whatever happened to the box, scx was all good inside:

Got my parts all checked and ready.

Is my axle housing warped or is this normal?

Thanks Axial for being generous with their 30wt shock oil .

Comparison between Rock Crushers and Flat Irons 1.9.

The Flat Irons are a much softer compound than the Crushers...

The Irons locked and loaded:

Do I tighten the rings down until there is no gap between the rings and the wheels?

Completed...

Here are some test fits with various tires:
Tamiya BFGs with HPI Stock Car wheels 0 offset.

Rock Crushers with hummer wheels:

I really like the articulation on the SCX10:

Tomahawks with Tamiya High Lift wheels:

Tamiya Rock Cruisers with High Lift wheels:

This is my first Axial kit and I am very impressed with it!!!

axle warp:

yes mine did that

rock rings:

yes to all the way down, just keep doing the star pattern until there is no more gap. If there is too much resistance, then your bead may not be seated properly, so start over.

Pics:

Every time I see the Hilux, makes me want to get one. I am going to wait for a CJ CGR to come out from Pro-Line though (crosses fingers)

I would paint the rock rings to match what ever color the hilux will be

Looks really nice. I like the Rock Crushers with hummer wheels the best. And my Ax10 axials did the same thing.

Updates...finally coming close to finishing my Hilux, just some minor finishing left. I am somewhat not satisfied with the height of the body in relation to the chassis. So I am still figuring how to give it a tummy tuck. The shock hoops are too high and won't allow the hilux body to lower anymore without some chopping.

Painted the body with Krylon Fusion white and added LED lights.
The front fog lights I had to drill them out to fit 5mm leds as thats what I had set up.

Looks good. I love Toyota's.

I agree that it would look even better if the body was a little bit lower.

The hummer wheels look nice white......nice touch!
If you could find a way, I think the body should go a little lower.

Ok got back now.
Managed to lower the body:

The body is attached using tablet shaped neodymium magnets. Glue onto hacked stock body posts. I glued them using Shoe Goo and its holding up real good.

Added some stuff to the bed. homemade sleeping bag and bungee cords.
