Eh, if it's going to get blown to hell, why bother putting the good stuff in it........plus, when NiMH packs blow, you get hot chunks of metal flying everywhere

Yup, and probably took out the skidplate, lower arm(s), and probably bent at least 1 shock shaft

That's the air force in that pic. Surprised that there wasn't a civilian contractor doing it for them.

The e maxx saved us a ton of money. Some east coast hobby shop got the contract to convert them . A wood platform on top and the large hotbodies tires and wheels. If you were on ebay shopping for e maxx parts , they were selling the bodies and tires and wheels. I got like all four color bodies for something crazy maybe $29 ! Also bought another one nad a new set of tires to put on a emaxx to sell.all first gens though.
One guy I was talking to said one blew up a mine wright in front of him. Never know might have saved his legs or even more.

Edit:

Never mind this is the car I was talking about. We went on Hot Rod Magazines Power Tour with this car many many moons ago, thought it might have gotten a face lift.

That is the facelifted version of that car, it was originally built in '95 by Mark Stielo for Summit.
