always been a huge fan of the belly tank land speed hot rods, even seen a few street legal.
at one time i was researching them pretty heavily, what it took to build.

I would prefer a ride along in a P-51 with a couple of those tanks strapped to is to the flight wont be too short.

If in a pinch i can make do with a ride along in a P-38 lightning, but sitting between those 2 motors i am sure i will need a ice bag for the ride.

There weren't many two seater P-38's. In fact, i can't recall reading about any... So, yeah, you'd be really uncomfortable in one, you'd probably have to fold yourself up pretty well to get in the back of the cockpit pod.

My dream is to fly a P-38. I doubt that will ever happen, there's less than 10 of them flying today, I think there's only 6 left that are airworthy.
