I had a similar situation with a dog we adopted. I live in a fairly rural area, but I do have neighbors. Anyway, we adopted this dog, a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and needless to say, she was a barker. Sometimes she would be great outside, but if some animals had been in the yard recently, she would go ape. As soon as we heard her, we'd call her in. Sometimes she'd come right in and sometimes she'd make you work for it. We talked to some of our neighbors when we saw them and they said they didn't hear her. That surprised us and maybe they were just being nice. We looked into bark collars, surgery, additional training, etc. We certainly didn't just say F'it. One day, I hear someone screaming in my yard when I step out onto my back porch to call the dog in. It turns out it's my neighbor (one I hadn't talked to about the dog). I have two kids, 3 and 5, and he is screaming profanity at the top of his lungs. To make an already long story short, I persuaded him to shut up, leave immediately and never return. Unfortunately, the dog didn't work out for us. I liked her a lot--real sweet dog. The previous owners had lied (the Humane Society's take on it, not ours) about how she was with kids to increase her chances at being adopted. We had to move on. The good news, I haven't heard from neighbor and I doubt I ever will.

Ok if you get a video see if you can post it here for us to see. I have 3 dogs in a subdivision... chiwawa, golden retriever and american bulldog. The little one will bark at a any noise and then the old golden will get in on it along with the bully. Also the bully is 2 years old and has the highest pitch bark there is and super loud, on top of that she barks and kicks for petting, food, and playing. But your case is alot worse cause your neighbors a *****************. I liked the firey bag of crap idea though.

I couldn't stand living beside that asshole. I'd have to strangle him. I'm a huge dog lover. I have a German shepard, a springer spaniel, and a miniature weiner dog he stays inside. There's some dogs that try to fight my german shepard (he kicks anus anyway), but I just fire the nieghbors dogs up with bird shot and they leave them alone for a few months. Neighbors don't care just as long as there on my land. Our dogs don't bark unless something or somebody is out there. Then you know somethings up.

Another things to consider, is that you are dealing with a ex-civil employee that got fired for anger/anger management issues. This dude is his own worst enemy, and his behaviour will get the best of him one of these days.

I still think the gay porn subscription (of course they need to send out reminder cards as well) is the best solution. of course some "I blow sheep" magnetic bumper stickers would work in a pinch.

Seeing as how you researched the law....and it is legal for your dogs to bark, I would probably just flip him the bird as I ripped donuts on his front lawn with a nitro RC.

Well today sucked ass. I took my boys out this morning for the wake up buisness. Locked my gate like i always do. Went inside to finish my eggs. Maybe ten minutes later i went out to bring them in cause it was -30 ish. The Gate was wide open (and it opens inward so i know they couldnt pull it open) and the boys were gone. After my visit with dispatch and talking to three cops and the animal control "officer" I was told they will call with any info. I got off from work and started around town. found one, His colar had been taken off and he was scared as hell. Cant find my other boy. Im to say the least pissssssed. I was informed that im one of four people to have this happen today and i shouldnt worry to much. ITS really freaking cold out, how can i not worry? Im at a loss of words.

I"d duct tape him to a chair and fill his pants with dry ice if he messed with my dogs. file a formal complaint with the city/police, if they don't do anything complain to a captain that this guy is off the deep end and you're not getting the help your taxes pay for. Be sure and ask for names of who you are talking too, that some times will nudge them into thinking that they had better do something or know how to ring in the layer. |
