Default Money pits!

Just started building a couple of these for me and my son. Of course, when you are doing everything double it adds up a lot faster! I can't remember ever ordering 4 ESCs at the same time

I've built enough stuff over the years to have learned not to go all out right off the bat. These will basically be stock to start, but I did decide to go the dual ESC route rather than an ESC with a PunkDig. He has only ever run his Honcho as a scaler, so I figure let him learn with it as it is, and upgrade as things break. Kind of depends on how much we get a chance to get to comps, etc. But that's half the fun

Well at least this way you won't have to worry about upgrading your radio later on, hope you and your boy enjoy them, I wish my boy was more interested in crawling.

I ran mine for 6 months, no bearing mods. Finally upgraded to vp cases and motorplates cause I was bored and everything was still cherry inside the cases.

Take your time on the builds, pay attention to what goes where and make sure you get it right the first time.

just my $.02

Good luck with the builds Zjguy721 you and your son will have a great time with them!
I built mine mostly stock, I changed out the lower links and electronics tray to BWD. They do add up really fast, but I'm with t-roller it's FUN!!! Now if only I could convice my wife of that!!! lol, just kidding shes really good about my RC obsession.

Who's bitching? I've been doing this long enough to know what I'm getting into.

i complaint once at my LHS that this hobby takes too much time and $$$, what i got back was that "its still better than drinking and smoking, and u get the fun to move around and shake ur belly off"

right after that, i bought another rig, man... he is good

I've built enough RCs over the years to to have learned to go all out right off the bat. Nothing is perfect when stock. $1600 is just enough to get em running right. Then it goes higher.

I'll bet over all, I'm into the 5 digit money with this hobby. Still cheaper than most anything 1:1 I like to do. Snowmobile, drag racing, 4x4ing, etc.

If I added up all the money I've spent over the years, I'm sure I'm into 5 figures easy. But that's the nature of the beast. I have to tinker with everything. My 1:1s, my quad, mountain bikes, whatever. And whoever said it above is right, its cheaper than smoking, drinking, etc, and definitely cheaper than a shrink!

I have only drank once since I got it, but smoking happens every day 15 times a day.
