Not always, I think the Highrails that Dad had that happen with were either Ford and GMC, depends on when it happended when he was still with C&NW (they used both) or if he was still with the E,J&E (primarily Fords). | |

I didn't have any work done on the truck recently. The brakes were done in August of last year. I wash the truck every 2 weeks during the winter months due to all the road salt. Everytime I'm at the car wash I grab the torque wrench from inside the truck and I check my lugs (a habbit I picked up years ago). I've never had one loose. When I first got out of the truck I was a little confused to see the truck resting on the rotor and all the lug nuts still there. While waiting for the tow truck my brother inlaw walked back and found 4 of the 5 lug nuts all within 1'-2' of each other. That included the lock nut, it doesn't look like it was worked on. New rotor, new studs (even though the old one's looked ok, just gummed up with alum. from the rim) new lug nuts. Everything else checked out ok. I'll have to re-install the fender flare when I get back from Houston and I'll send my rim out to see if it can be repaired. Just watching that 35" tire roll/bounce down the road keeps playing over and over in my head. I keep telling myself thank god that it didn't hit anyone. |
