Crate-train him. Boarding him in the kitchen while you go off to work is NOT going to end well. My wife volunteers for Arizona Labs and Giant Breed Rescue. We've had 90 dogs go through our home in the last 3 years, from 8 weeks old black labs (3 of them at once) to 190lb Mastiffs and Dane's. http://azlabsandgiants.org/ This is the butthead we're currently fostering... http://azlabsandgiants.org/Rescue_available_Shelby.html |

labs are mad cool, i mean damn... your cool with the shitzu, you just wait. at least it's not as hyper as a german shorthaired pointer. <-------------- labs are super smart, and love to please. just be careful, knees can be a problem with labs. my wife's lab cost us 3,000 for a knee i grew up with a lab, and if my brother and i were playing down in the woods somewhere, my parents would just tape a note to old CJ and let her out coaching her to... " go find the boys " my dad also taught her to bring back beers and the paper. have plenty of cookies on hand. i take it you have seen marley and me ? |

My Yellow would try to out think me. It was a lot of fun that I have never had with another dog. She would fetch my shoes by name. Take Lenny on the leash and constantly walk him the perimeter of your yard. Each time give him a little more leash. If he wanders past the "line" pull back and say "NO". I did that for about a month. After that, she would not leave the year. Taking time with labs is all you need. They are extremely trainable and if you do it now, they will give you years of fun. Good Luck. | |
