I guess art students are designing cars these days and not car guys. If I owned Chevy there is no way I would even put Chevelle badges on that thing.

IF that "Chevelle" ever makes it into production it will probably end up being a fwd unibody with I4 and small V6 engine options. Making a car to compete with the fugly Camaro makes no sense. | |

That concept is about as ugly as the new Camaros. I like the idea of going "retro" because most all modern cars are bland hulks with little to no style and personality. Designers seem to have to look to the past to find good lines. Despite my disdain for the looks of the new Camaro, at least it clearly has lineage to the Gen 1 F-Body. This "egg" shares nothing with the Chevelle. I bet it's even got FWD. |

The ass end is pointed like the Camaro's, and equally bland/boring. The Camaro would have been an amazing car if it were smaller, and the rear had some more thought put into it. This thing doesn't even really carry over what the Chevelle was, in any way from the looks of it. They should stop trying to revive old lines of cars, ESPECIALLY if they're going to try and put some sort of "new" or "retro" spin on it.

I think they forgot to cross the T's and it's really a Chevette concept. And am I the only one who sees a '68 Charger in the new Camaros? Roofline, tallights, grille? |

In my opinion Dodge and Ford have the right idea. They are going back using major cues from the original Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, etc, in designing their new modern versions. Chevy seems to have missed the boat from the beginning, as I find the new Camaro and now the new Chevelle, to be hideous and look nothing like what they claim to represent. |
