Im gona go out on a limb and say that a: he didn't build it for fuel mileage, and b: if you can afford to build an 800hp cummins you can afford fuel lol. Do you have a few more details on the truck? I assume it's a compound set up?

Well, you're not having to go far out on that limb
Since I doubt fuel mileage was a concern when building this project.
However, since it took almost a year to complete, I'm going to assume it wasn't all build time, and that much of the time was used for saving up for projects. If he were a millionaire, the project might have taken only a couple weeks, and fuel wouldn't be a concern at all.
Very nice truck, but I still hope it's not a DD, or he at least doesn't have far to go to work.

That pig probably still gets better MPG than the 10 in town my Tundra gets. I like the red, like the wheels, if it was a Ford you would have something

I thought that (mpg) was the whole "cool factor" with modern diesels? You can turn them up and make good power and then turn them back and get decent mpgs.

If his turck was bumped down to say 4-500hp for DD'ing I bet he'd get low 20's on the highway...

Oh and nice looking truck. I bet the factory mirrors were sold to someone with an OBS Ford (thats a popular mod these days and everyone seems to love those factory towing mirrors).

Wow, so you gained 500hp by swapping the grill, headlights, wheels and tires, side mirrors, and removing the chrome trim? And no NOS?

Fuel mileage is 5% engine efficiency, 5% aero/rolling resistance, and 90% in your foot.

it has, 150 gph lift pump, 150% cp3 injection pump, f1 180 injectors, single s471 turbo with a billet compressor wheel, hamilton cam, suncoast transmission with all billet shafts, water/methanol injection, and a couple mre little bolt ons here & there

if i dive it right and keep my foot out of it it gets 16-18mpg in town and 21-22 hwy

a far handling it still a 7100 lb

4x4 so its no sports car
i'll post some more pics this evening
