Well i love it and you guys can knock me not paying for it all you want but my dad got me this truck and 6 college credit hours free and i will put that towards the welding program. What do you guys suggest for oil and oil filter? I'm thinking penzoil and a purelator filter. BTW: whats a cassette tap? |

my first truck was a 94 1500 chevy regular cab long box, had 210k on it when we sold it after dad died, and i did as much maintenance as i could on it, and i was damn proud of it. it may have been the work truck in the fall, it may have only had a stock tape deck and radio, but it was (still is, a friend of mine bought it) a damn good truck. my current daily driver is a 95 2500 cummins with 168k, and i'm more careful with that than the lawn mower. grease the drivelines twice a year at least, change the oil and fuel filters often (3k-5k depending on how much idle time is on it), and keep it as clean as i possibly can. point here is that if you are lucky enough to get what you get in life, you damn well better take care of it. doesn't matter if its an older vehicle or a new one off the lot. as far as your dad paying for it, my dad paid for both trucks, but they were both field service vehicles during the harvest. i worked my ass off for no pay in the fall to pay for them and the insurance. families are different i suppose. |

usually they pay bout 500 twice a year for cutting grass in our holler and i done it both times this year. Do you honestly need to change the oil in a diesil that often cause don't it hold 6 gallons instead of say 6 or 7 quarts?
