I realized that right after I had hit submit.

I had merged people's sale threads in the past when I had time and things were slow. I confused your comment with someone else threads.

First I will say he was in fact spoken to about the multiple threads and he won't be doing it again.
I try to go with a second chance moderation theory. We are all human and humans make mistakes.
As many of you all know and SEVERAL that have already posted in this thread complaining have all had second chances in the classifieds.
Second chances that involved a personal message vs. infraction and 3 week suspension to many. Is multiple posting any less or more of a violation then others bumping early? Deleting their 4 day old sale thread and bumping early? Not sure. but it deserves the same second chance.

The classifieds should be pretty simple, but every day people find ways to complicate things.

Pet peeves:

Read the rules. !!!! Read the rules. !!! READ THE RULES !!!
Yes, they do apply, no, they are not that complicated to understand or follow.
Over 72,000 registered members follow them without issue, join the club and follow along!

List a price! ... It's not that hard.
If you don't know how much you want for it, come back and post a sale thread when you figure things out.
I lose track of how many sale threads I delete regularly that ask for best offer without a price.

Don't be greedy and try to make your sale an auction because you are afraid you are going to miss $2.00 in the end.

POST PICTURES!!!! ... PM me for pics, will post pics later, email me for pics etc...
No!!! Post pictures. If you have the ability to do all the other ways, you can easily make a photobucket (or similar image hosting site) and upload their free image link.

Will post pics when I get home.... Great! Wait until you get home to post the sale thread WITH the pictures then.

Again... ADD PICTURES.... Don't link your build thread and tell people if they want to see pictures they can see them there. If you can copy & paste the link to the build thread, make that huge extra effort and open the build thread, grab the image code from a couple of your pictures and add them to your new sale thread.

"All RCC and Paypal rules apply"... Adding that in the beginning and bumping the thread early 3 days after it last posted, not listing a price and asking for someone to pay your Paypal fees all makes me want to poke you in the eye with a stick! J/k .... But it is aggravating.
Saying the rules apply is not a free pass to break them yourself.

Have your stuff ready to ship!
If not, clearly explain there will be a week or so wait until you take things to a post office.

Respond to your buyer!!! BIG one here.
If you can check your sale thread every 15 seconds until you get a buyer on the hook. Insist on immediate payment...
Keep that same line of communication open until the buyer sends you a message stating the item is in hand.
Granted some buyers get to be pests.
But if they ask for tracking ... Respond back
If they have a dumb question... Respond back (even if its only to say you don't answer dumb questions) at least respond.


Tracking is cheap! BUY IT !!!!

I like to look at pictures. Pictures help me buy things. I agree about texting or emailing for pics, not a fan of doing that.

I've seen the same items pop up in less than a week before with the same pics and I often wonder if I'm losing my mind or people aren't following the waiting period. "I swear I saw this same item on Monday..."

I love me some Garage Sale listings with 12+ items and I can't decide what I want. I get depressed when I click on a garage sale post and I see two items for six-figure prices. Sometimes I want some questionable garage sale quality merchandise that's seen better days for cheap.

I agree no picture in for sale ad. To me the thread shouldn't be posted. Most people won't buy stuff without seeing it.

Personally, I never look at the classifieds here, for a couple reasons. One, PayPal burned me to many times and I don't use them anymore. Since that is the only way people deal in the classifieds, it kind of makes it pointless. Two, because of being burned, I will only deal with people I know in person (or a reputable vendor). That being said, it sucks that I can't try and deal with locals because no buy/sell/wanted can be in the local forums.

Try local trades in the B/S/T It pisses me off when someones posts to an ONLINE B/S/T for local deals. If you are doing local then go to craigslist.

But, for some reason on RCC I can only post a single image per post since I started using an IPad.

I've checked every setting I can think of and no change. I know other IPad users have had or are still experiencing the same issue.

That's why I post only a single image and post that I will text more if the buyer is interested.

Opposite. I do all my picture posting (multiple images) with tapatalk on my iPhone.
Like mentioned, if you use an iPad you can only attach on picture through a web browser.

Yeah for some reason I was thinking it was a tapatalk problem. I use android for past 2 years now but I did use it on the iPhone a long time ago.
