not sure if this is where to post this but I thought some of you who crawl with your fullsize rigs might be interested. I have a set of 76cc s\b chevy heads, stock. 2 edelbrock intakes, old school, a torker and a performer. They aren't perfect but for free. A griffen 4 row copper brass rad. and a 3 row from a 72 nova. If you want em' let me know. Thanks,

it's just a performer, not the rpm. both manifolds need help around the water neck area, stripped threads.

Looks like you're in the same boat I'm in. I have a set of 1.96 camels here that nobody seems to want. Just can't bring myself to give'm away, though. If I remember right they're off a 63-64 Vette...461 castings. |

the performer is an egr but it has the block off plate, the torker has no egr. I used the performer for a year or so until I pulled the top end for vortec heads and manifold. It worked great with the stock heads. I'll send some pics tomorrow.

That is another thing I have been wondering about. You are the first person I have found that is running the vortec heads. How do you like them? Approximatly where does it put the power? I also hear you can run the compression up without it pinging (not drasticly of course)

Well, I did lose some off the line torque but I gained alot in the 2500-5k range most noticeable at 3500 rpm's. I ran 92 octane with no pinging. I liked it. It was in my 72 nova,350 tranny 3.08 rear. A 3:55 or 3:73 would have been perfect.
