What is there to not understand? The money helps support the site. Plus star holding members get more chances to win free stuff. The money is well spent.

I have one kid, she is in school, 4 dance classes, band, swimming, plus owns a Wraith, a LCG slash 4x4, Sc10, and just broke her tablet so I am on the hook for another one. I am not a rich guy, but if a $20 makes or breaks you, then its time to move on to another hobby.
