Default Yeti XL , short bus ?

If 2.2's are considered " training wheels " compared to 1.9's , does that make the Yeti XL the short bus ?

That comparison would make sense if the Yeti XL was built to be a crawler and not just an goofy-bodied E-Revo with solid rear.

Where do these Revo comments keep coming from? Because it has 2 battery trays? I used to race nitro revos, had an erevo, and own a yeti. I see absolutely no similarities.

Am I missing something?

I didn't say anything about it sucking. The Revo and E-Revo were groundbreaking advancements at the time they came out and are still the industry leader in haul ass monster trucks. Really, to be compared to the Revo is a compliment. I haven't gotten to play with the Yeti XL yet, we just got our first one in the store yesterday, but odds are it's a pretty sweet ride.

It's the functionality and intended use of the design. The Yeti XL fits into the Revo/Maxx/Savage class a lot better than it fits into any crawler class. The original post made comparisons between the Yeti XL and crawlers. You wanna talk about no similarities, there ya go. The Yeti XL has nothing in common with crawlers except a few design and styling cues. It's a monster truck/basher with a rock buggy looking body. That's why it gets Revo comparisons.

Yes, and my T-Maxxes were much better out of the box than any other Nitro MT at the time, I had to put a lot of money in my Savage just to keep gears in the diffs because the plastic diff housings allowed gear mesh to spread under load resulting in stripped gears really fast. Aluminum diffcups and diff housings were requiired for the Savage, but Traxxas held up to way more abuse in stock form once I reinforced the chassis.

Personally I would go for an E-Revo for bashing over E-Savage, Yeti XL, etc.

by that logic, the micro crawlers are the most awesome and challenging size...
