SERIOUSLY interested in knowing how the front tires glue up to the wheels. I know Joe (Exocaged) was never able to properly glue his front drag tires to aluminum wheels.

These are sweet, I haven’t gotten my new tires in yet, I did notice a slight difference in outer flange diameter, vs stock DR10 wheels that I haven’t used.

Not referring to the diameter, but to the ability of CA glue holding rubber to the aluminum. According to Joe, the CA wasn't bonding to the aluminum.

I wouldn't think you even need to glue them depending on how snug they are to the bead. Maybe some E6000/Shoe Goo? You aren't really turning (at speed anyway) and, they are not driven wheels so they shouldn't balloon up and blow of the wheel. Then again, I know less than nothing about drag cars.

Sadly I’ve blown the front beads off at speed , so I know they need to be glued. When you hit about 40mph they grow, and the next hot you’re swerving.

I was quite surprised myself the first time. I glued about 1/4” long spots, two blowouts back to back. I then glued the whole bead

We took it out on some near by trails to check it out. You can set the jeep to crawl with all electric mode. We were able to go up a pretty steep road crawling up at .5 mile per hour. We didn't get too crazy with it due not having off road tires on it. It is so quiet that we drove right up on to a heard of deer. You can crawl all electric for about 45 minutes before the 17.5 Kwh battery goes to 0. (not really zero because they have reserve so that you don't run the battery too low. )

Finally decided to get into the "jumbo scale" size of RC...and, it's not even the DBXL-E 2.0 I thought would be my first. Nor is it an RTR. I came upon an RC 'chop shop' that just happened to have a brand-new Traxxas X-MAXX roller. Thinking I'll pair of up with a Castle MMX-8S & 1717-1260kV. Any thoughts on that ESC/motor combo in an X-MAXX?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...993018ca99.jpg
As for the DBXL-E 2.0, I'll still get one (sooner or later)...just hoping it's not so far down the road that it ends up being a 3.0...lol

The 1717 isn’t a bad motor in the Xmaxx but the 1260kv not that much different from the stock motor. A stock Xmaxx feels really crazy the first couple packs but then you realize it could use a bit more power and speed to complete the monster truck experience. You probably don’t want to go through the effort and expense of getting a motor and a new mount (which you will need for anything that isn’t the stock motor) only to realize you should have gone with more power.

I have a Hobbywing 5687 1100kv in mine and it is about the perfect Xmaxx motor. It has was more grunt than a 1717 but doesn’t have the insane power of the huge HW 56113 or Castle 2028 and is still short enough to keep the ESC in the stock location. The only real downside is the limited sources of mod 1 pinions for 8mm motor shafts.

My Ryft Kit is on the FedEx truck, out for delivery, right now). In the meantime, a package from Vitavon got delivered last night, containing training links, steering knuckles, and front & rear axle. Making them even better (in appearance), I asked Arthur to anodize them this brilliant blue.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9a65e4487f.jpg

Single port Silencerco ASR brake/suppressor mount for my .300BLK. Chasing those elusive few DBs and first round pop with subsonic rounds. This will let me run the brake and therefore muzzle much closer to the first blast baffle, and should cure my issues. There's no free lunch when it comes to cans.

The first 'non-chassis' parts for my new C3 rig were delivered yesterday...although, to call the rig "new" isn't quite accurate, as I'm using the two front axles, and electronics, from my previous C3 rig, CAPbRAstard. This is just a 'hint' as to what direction the new C3 rig is going:

Except that my reply also indicates the color. I wasn't trying to be a 'wiseass' with my initial reply...I was simply trying to answer his question, and, at the same time, lead him to what color (tho, not what 'shade', as that's still undecided) I'd be dying it. I'm trying to come up with a lighter shade that compliments the blue of the axles, but also something that's still sorta-kinda 'semi-bold'.

Once the frame is dyed, then I'll paint the body panels. Only once the panels are done...and once I decide/order better shocks (as I've heard the included shocks aren't very good, and leak)...will I start the actual build. I'd also like to see if I can come up with some sort of roof panel...say, something similar in design to the Capra's roof panel. Would just need to come up with a way of attaching it.

It was finally time to upgrade my old bike multi tool that I've carried in my camelbak for many many years. I've had and used on the trails if needed a old park tools kit. I've been eyeing out this crank brothers f15 multi tool for a little while. Today the boy and me went into one of our favorite lbs and picked him up some new pedals and I finally decided to get me the f15 and some other tools as well. I love bike tools. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2b6140d940.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ce698e0132.jpg

"Dye it, blue" still fewer words. :lmao:

Just messing with ya. Sometimes humor doesn't translate well on the ol' interwebs. Hopefully you have a vessel big enough for it to get an even color unlike Matty cakes from SBG did on his. Although, it does look good. Those Vitavon parts look pretty dang good on blue.

Picked up four of these "little" babys today from my LHS (NorCal Hobbies).https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...140d00f3d9.jpg
Technically, I'm tired of waiting for the Pro-Line Masher X HP Belted tires, so I thought I'd see what NorCal had in-stock (besides the overly-heavy Badlands MX & Trencher, both on RAID wheels). The options were these, and the DuraTrax Six Pack X. Both options are belted, and only slightly heavier than the stock Traxxas wheels/tires...but, both are also considerably lightly than the Badlands MX & Trencher.

Nice. We just ordered a new top load with agitator washer from Lowes this weekend too.
My 8 year old front load washing was leaking internally. Sure I could've fixed it for cheaper. But I came to the realization that I hate the front load washing machine and this was a good excuse to go back to an old school style top load with agitator.
