I just quit my job. It would be 15 years February 2, 2015. I gave a two week notice out of respect. Unreal feeling. |

Absolutely nothing lined up. Just a savings account I can feed off of for a few years. No clue what I'm doing but I had to start somewhere. |

Good for you and good luck. I've been at my job for almost 14 years and I would love to walk the "F" outa there. I would love to move, I hate this state. Wish I could. Your a lucky guy! |

Congradulations! So jealous of you. I've been at my job over 25 years and I'm only 44. Quitting and moving out of California has always been a dream for me. But when you are the main money maker and have a wife and 14, 11 yr old kids. And the only industry I know is the movie industry which is why I'm stuck here. Good luck on the new venture. |

Right on guys. I'm single, no kids, no pets, no car payments, no debt, I rent an apartment and I'm more or less not tied down to anything. So I have it easy. I "manage" five or six guys at a print shop for pizza boxes. Almost 15 years of putting up with stupid shit, stupid people that can't make ends meet no matter what, repairing everything all the time, etc. I'm 39 and over it. I'm better than that. Enough of it. This is my first step. And I have no idea what the second step is. This hits home with me, and I remember watching it on TV when it first aired in 1996 and it has lingered ever since. |

EP, In Feb '13 I quit my job of almost 19 years. I was in management of a local paper mill and had to be responsible for about 300 people. All in a old decrepit thing of a plant. Got an offer at a new plant with a whole new line of work and about 50 total employees. Was nervous for the few days, kinda like the first day of school or something. Year later, best decision ever. My point is change is good. Last edited by TEDROCKZ; 08-11-2014 at 03:26 PM. |
